In terms of location the resort is difficult to beat. There are approximately seven lodges on stilts by the lakeside with a dining room and bar a short walk along the lake. The views are amazing and can include the Virunga Mountain range when the mists clear. However, the mists contribute to an ever changing scenery that is hauntingly beautiful....

The resort is on lake Mutanda, a destination that attracts less tourists than others in Uganda, but would deserve more. The lake is incredibly beautiful. The rooms have a wonderful view over the lake and over the Virunga volcanoes just behind it. Rooms are half built / half tented-huts, nice even if a bit small. Comfortable and with a great...

The lodge is well situated next to lake mutanda. When we checked in, the receptionist passed me a welcome drink which has a mosquitos in it, I told her to exchange, she gave me a new one. Because there were 3 of us including the driver, I saw her passed the one with mosquitos to the driver. She shows no...

The setting is what really makes this place special. Set right on the lake, the sunsets and views are spectacular. The tent cabins were fine, comfortable bed, good mosquito netting. Food was good value and rather tasty, a little bland at times. The only thing that was a bit annoying in 2016 is the lack of decent wifi.

Dear Corinne, thank you very much for your review. It's good to read that you have enjoyed your stay. Concerning the WiFi, we've invested in another system and it's working much better. kind regards, Rose Marie

Wonderful two night stay, before and after gorilla trekking. Only water edge location at the lake. Great view of the magical lake. Canoe/pontoon trips were tantalizing but we did not take them. Comfortable accommodations with individual cabins. Good service. Owner/manager living on site.

Excellent value for money with stunning room views over the volcanoes and Mutanda lake. The lodge is built on a peninsula, surrounded by water which makes it quite unique. Rooms are simple, food is good though we wish we had more crayfish (even at extra cost), staff and management really friendly and very helpful. We will definitely go back.

The hotel location is what makes it amazing. It is very quiet and serene however it is a bit in the middle of nowhere so better book for activities first and decide on the location where to stay afterwards. The hotel staff was nice however the room was not fully ready when we arrived and i am not sure we...

Dear Christelle, we are indeed in the middle of nowhere, but that is also what makes our place special and serene. For majority of our guests it's not a problem at all, as the views on your way to the gorillas in the sunrise are stunning. I can imagine though that others prefer to opt for a more nearby lodge....

We stayed here after the gorilla treks and appreciate the peaceful relaxation the resort and lake offered. Each cabin or tent is lake-front with unbelievable views. The wildlife include otters and weaver-birds, with nests in front of the cabins. The cabins have floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows to gaze at lake and mountains from your bed. A small veranda with...

My experience at Mutanda Lake Resort exceeded my expectations. This place has the most gorgeous views on the planet, the lake shimmering with the Virguna Mountains in the background, so stunning. The rooms are simple tents glamped up and very cozy. The Staff was wonderful and so was the food! I suggest staying a minimum of 3 nights, especially nice...
