Welcome to the Colonial Inn & Motel, perfectly located in downtown Watkins Glen, where quality and value meet beautiful and spectacular scenery. We provide a comfortable and restful place for a great night's sleep.

Start your morning with a complimentary cup of "Witches Brew" coffee from Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters. Now start your day. We are a few minutes walking distance from a wide variety of sight-seeing and other traditional vacation opportunities including the world famous Watkins Glen State Park, also known as "The Gorge" and its beautiful 19 waterfalls. Conveniently located near other major attractions such as Seneca Lake boat tours, local wineries and their vineyards, Nascar Sprint Cup, Watkins Glen International speedway racing, and more. Check out the 2014 New York's Finger Lakes Region Travel Guide for more ideas (we are featured on page 21). Bit.Ly/2014TravelGuide

This historic motel is an excellent choice for families, business travelers, or those simply road-tripping through the Finger Lakes wine country on a budget. The main building was built in the 1880s and still retains a lot of its vintage charm. The back rooms were added in 1950s and also retain the classic mid-century look and decor of a more peaceful and restful time. (We still use metal keys, not plastic key cards). We are more than a simple B&B resort. We provide free Wi-Fi and free parking, but the secret of our success is our attention to detail to provide clean rooms and a hospitable atmosphere at an affordable price. You will find our staff enthusiastic and courteous with your comfort and pleasure our priority.

We offer late check-in, and are open to drop-ins when available.

Oh, and while in Watkins Glen, we recommend you try our small batch homemade ice cream, with vegan ice cream. And for our meat eaters, we have our very tasty Beef On Weck sandwich. It has gotten great reviews. We also offer handcrafted pottery, ceramics and other locally created items. You can also view our active beehive and see the honey, if you find the queen bee you get a free small ice cream.

I was happy with this 2 star hotel, I only stayed for couple of nights whilst driving through the region and mostly picked this for location and price. Location is great, very close to Watkins Park for walking and close to the lake and town, all within walking distances. The prices were reasonable. The place is a bit outdated, the rooms are reasonable but need a bit of a refresh. Overall though, I thought it was a reasonable choice.

BEWARE OF BEDBUGS!! I want to start By saying we were SO excited for our stay at the Colonial Inn. We arrived about 2hrs early, but the owner, Phil, was kind enough to allow us to check in early. We dropped our things in room #6 (in the building in the back) and admired the spacious room with a VERY comfortable bed. The room and bathroom were a bit dated, and the carpet has certainly seen better days, but overall we were pleased. The location into town and the state park are unbeatable. We left our belongings and explored the town. After dinner, we got some ice cream from the creamery, which was good. We headed back to our room to unwind and when we got into bed, we noticed quite a few red/brown bugs. Immediately suspecting bed bugs, we called the contact phone number and reported the problem. Phil answered, and said he'd be over immediately to inspect. After 10 long minutes, he finally arrived and said these bugs are just a mix of "fuzz" and "tree bark bugs". He said they'd change the sheets and vacuum, since they were booked up and couldn't move us. Having done some googling, we were VERY confident they were bed bugs, and when we tried to show/explain, his attitude changed, becoming aggressive and rude, saying things like he's been in the hotel business for 20 years, he knows what he's talking about, and that bed bugs aren't visable to the naked eye (FYI- totally false). He finished removing the bedding while yelling "Go ahead and write a bad review, I couldn't give a sh*t". Feeling attacked, and left speechless, we left the room to let him and his staff change the sheets and vaccum. Once they finished and left we went back to examine the bed. The mattress seemed ok but when we got down to the underside and box spring, you could see CLUSTERS of bed bugs and dark spots alike. We packed our stuff, got in the car, and went in search of another hotel. They did end up refunding us, once I contacted the original company I booked through. I'll never get over the owner's rude, aggressive and dismissive attitude. If this situation had been handled with a better attitude, and genuine care for thwir guests, I'm sure we would have had a wonderful stay at the Colonial instead of having to find accommodations 30 minutes away at 11pm at night.

This place is very tired and outdated. The rooms in the original creamery building may be different however, we stayed in the rooms behind the building. Check in is done by text, which is not welcoming. There was a musty moldy spell that was causing breathing irritation. We ended up sleeping in the car. Can't say that I would recommend.

Delicious wood fired pizza made to order; by hand! We were hungry after after hiking the Watkins Glen State Park so we walked down to the Colonial Inn for their outside pizza! Ordered the Margharita pizza and was not disappointed! Waited about 20 minutes since there was 3 pizzas in front of ours - but totally worth the wait. We took it to go and ate every piece. $17 for the whole pie and it was cut into 4 pieces. It was just the two of us so it was the perfect size and amount. We will be returning tomorrow for the ice cream portion!

Pizza place was ridiculous. Girl behind the counter can’t take simple directions and mixed up order of everyone’s pizza. Waited over an hour for a fire oven pizza that’s cooks under 3 minutes while watching everyone else’s pizza get made and served. Don’t recommend at all, there’s many other places to get a meal.

Quaint is correct. The carpet in our room was a mess. The shower head holder was broken, the AC barely worked. There was no maid service. This has a lot of potential if only they put in the effort. For the price I expected better. Location is excellent and the ice cream delightful

My husband and I were camping at Watkins Glen State Park, but a rainy weekend and other camping problems sent us in search of a place to stay in town. Colonial Inn was the perfect spot! Cozy, historic and clean hotel. Comfortable beds and friendly staff! I unfortunately left a very prized raincoat at the hotel, and they were so kind to mail it to me after I left! I would definitely come for another visit!

Loved the streamlined checkin and checkout. Great location - walking distance to the state park. Comfie bed. The room was quirky, but satisfactory for our one night stay. We got what we paid for. A place to sleep. Access to the park and several restaurants within a couple blocks. Creamery was closed while we were there. Didn’t have any interaction with owners or staff. Our room had a strong scent (floral? cleaner?), so we opted not to extend our stay. The bathroom was doorless and separated from the main part of the room by a divider wall. Don’t stay here for the view - we didn’t even open the curtains.

We did not stay at the Inn, but feasted on the wood fired pizza. It was fabulous pizza. Cheese and sauce was so exceptional. Seating is only outside. The owner is personable and sure makes a great pizza. The wood oven is next to the trailer where the pizza is made. They also sell a variety of specialty sodas.
