NOTE: It says Vina del Mar as the address, but the hotel is in CONCON! We did a week's timeshare swap into the unknown. Yes, it is not up to the US Marriott standards, but this place is humming, especially on weekends! Lots of families come from Santiago, 1 1/2 hr drive away. It has a rooftop indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, gym, playroom, typical small convenience store (with coffee), good rooftop restaurant, + hair & nail salon. There is a small rocky beach, down & across a busy road. Did not see anyone on the tennis courts next to the sailboat marina, or in the ocean except fishermen & a few sailors. It also has some unfinished construction which seems to be at a standstill! Visibility was very poor at times (autumn mists plus air pollution?) but we saw some good sunsets! Lovely little lunch pavilion at the Botanical Gardens where they have free guided (in Spanish-tho one tried valiantly to help us) tours. Not far by car, in the Chilean Andes, is a hike following Charles Darwin's path as he collected indigenous ferns. ADVICE: Get a suite with bedroom, full bath, living room with pullout sofa, kitchenette. Suites have A after the room number. We got a B, which means a small room with small closet w/just enough space to maneuver round the kingsize bed (one pillow each!). Bath has tight shower stall (as noted by Capt. Cuddles!) & a long tub, one sink, sep. toilet. Towels, but no luxuries. We spent our time exploring Chile up & down the coast north to Quetaro & south to Valparaiso, plus the wine region called Casablanca, so were not much in the room, which frankly could use refreshing, tho our bed was comfy. Pleasant English speaking staff at the timeshare desk, and guarded parking. There were some welcoming little restaurants on the water (like Albatroz) with inside & outside dining (watch pelicans and seals), all within walking distance plus empanada places up on the hill. If you have a car, the huge supermarket is not far away. We tried to go "sand skiing" on the dunes, but tho' we could see them from our window with binoculars, could not find the way in from the highway! When you travel that far (8000+miles for us) you don't want to find exactly what you left at home!

As an Interval International timeshare location it does have a mini kitchen and bedroom. The location of the resort has a fantastic view of the ocean and faces both the bay portion and open ocean. Perched high upon a hill, Sunsets are viewable from the open ocean side. Water crashes on the rocks by the marina providing a soothing sound day and night. The unfortunate part is for some reason the road between the resort and the marina is really noisy with trucks and cars climbing the steep hill. The view is so good, locals are constantly stopping and sitting along the road watching the view. This isn’t noisy or annoying in any way to me. Cons and Pros in that order: CONS Needs some updating but it’s not bad Couch in living room is a trundle and not a bed so couples wanting to sleep side by side is tight if you use only the couch Two single beds in the master and they roll easy Street noise NO AIR CONDITIONING must open windows/slider No drinks of any kind by the pool or spa Bird feces is on the rocks, roofs, trees, etc... I did see staff cleaning with bleach but it did not remove it completely from pool decks. Probably sterilized it though. Parking is in front of the lobby only but we never really had an issue so it was actually convenient. Upkeep on the balcony railings could be better. They are sturdy but need sanded and painted more often due to the salt air. Restaurant has great service and food is good but the view is not particularly good, no bar, and no real vibe to create any ambiance. Internet get slow during the day but to be fair, so did the data on my phone regardless of where I was. No furniture on the balcony to enjoy the view. We used kitchen chairs and end tables PROS Everyone from check in to housekeeping was super nice and helpful. Could not ask for more helpful people. Location...The view, the proximity (driving distance) to everything in Concón and Vine Del Mar was an easy drive. Rooms are spacious enough for 4 Flat screen TV’s Granite Counter Tops No lack of hot water DAILY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE...being close to the ocean thing just get dirty, especially when you must keep windows open. Internet available throughout the resort and worked about 90% of the time. Better success very early morning or late at night. Tennis Court, football (soccer) sand field, lots of small kids entertainment, organized events for children every day Rack for drying clothes that folds up. Very nice feature. Extra blankets in the closet Black out curtains We enjoyed out stay despite some of the cons but overall, since the temperatures were cool, it was a very nice stay.

Stayed here on Business. My rooms was comfortable and overlooked the sea. Great to hear the birds and the waves and see beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The only negative I found is that it is a fair hike to get to decent places to eat. However, you can Uber to most of the restaurants and even walk back if you want to digest all the food you ate.

Stayed here for 4 days at the end of August. I did not choose the place my associates family memeber did. We had to go to Vina del Mar every day for a medical convention, it looked like a short drive on the map, it was NOT ! First if you do not have a car you are a prisoner here ! Nothing else within walking distance. mini-market on premises a joke. Not much at all, opens at 9:30am and closes at 9:00pm. Ladies working the register are inept, cannot figure out how to make charges to your room. We knew there was contruction on premises, asked for rooms away from the construction, I got one near my associate did not. My room was small even by IBIS standards. The Bed, HORRIBLE ! Small Soft and sunken on one side. I ended up with severe backaches having to take 600-800 mgs. of Ibuprofen at least twice a day, still hurts 3 days after leaving this place, going to Chiropractor tomorrow. Bathroom, OH MY GOD ! The shower was about the size of the telephone booths that used to be everywhere, TERRIBLE you could not take a proper shower (IBIS showers are larger if you can believe that). Virtually no toiletries provided. NO Laundry service at this place, bring enough clothes ! Front desk, some people nice others worthless and unhelpful. I complained about the WiFi which was to the point of worthless in my room. The guy at reception at the time, guy in his 30's, balding with goatee said: "That there was a WiFi antenna in front of my room" ??? What, HUH ? Must have been broken or a ghost antenna, would offer NO help ! WiFi reception in Lobby was ok... Also if you want a taxi, they will NOT call you a normal taxi or UBER, just some unknown service. Their service is Expensive ! One night they called some guy that was high, the car smelled of a certain weed, he could not find a location less than 1Km. away even with GPS and was rude. My room view was fine, when there were no trucks going by and making noise. There was a nice view of the ocean but the rooms large window was right above the street. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night the room was quiet (except at the time the trucks went by). Friday night a bunch of people arrived, noisy and with many children. That night the SMALL, TINY Bathroom which had no window just a vent with fan, cigarrette smell started to come in the bathroom vent and go everywhere in our room, AWFUL ! There is suppossed to be NO smoking on premises, hah, hah, hah ! Restaurant only one on premises fair at best, mostly seafood if you like seafood ok, if you do not tough luck. Service so-so. Breakfast expensive and not very good. I could go on with the negatives to this place, also so-so clean. I think my message is detailed. JUST STAY SOMEPLACE ELSE !

We stayed here in a timeshare swap with our Cabo place. It was a great base of operations to visit Vina del Mar, Valparasio, Santiago, wine tasting, etc. Now it was Winter there, August. so keep that in mind. But don't look for multiple restaurants, car rental service, active bar scene. It's just a nice hotel with a small restaurant and a pool. Great views. Tennis court. Kids play room. You will need a car. You will want to eat in Con Con. Many fine restaurants there. Also you might not have a kitchen, but just a small refer. We went to Jumbo market (think Walmart), and got a water heater, instant coffee, some bread, cheese, and meats for our in room breakfast. Left the heater ($10 USD) No in room coffee or microwave. No in room smoke detectors or sprinkers. Possibly no where else in Chile thought. No room service.
