Had a double latte and a slice of torta amor. Coffee was served boiling hot, no foam, more of a café con leche. The cake (torta amor) was frozen with ice crystals on the inside. Paid way too much (9000 CLP) for those 2 items. Location: ok. Place really needs to clean terrace, glass veranda. It’s filthy! The view is the only saving grace. Service was ok. Food and beverage preparation: bad.
My first impression was that this place is fabulous and I think it has the potential to be just that. The views are incredible and we were upgraded to the suite. Not a big deal but the wifi doesn't really work in the suite. Also, there were tiny little ants in the bathroom which can happen when near the ocean, but it wasn't fun to see, and room smelled a little musty. What made up for some of the negative things, was the breakfast the next morning. We ate outside on the deck and had a full delicious breakfast with fresh squeezed juice, fresh cooked eggs, fruit, and toast.
I've visited this place 3 or 4 times. They have hot sea water baths, it's a great relaxing experience. For the price, you get bottled water and then after the bath, fruit salad and tea or coffee. You can also just go to have coffee or a drink and enjoy the stunning view in their terrace. My favorite place for a spa day. Nothing beats it. My opinion, of course.
This review is for the cafe not the accommodations. We were disappointed with the mediocre food overall. The vegetarian sandwiches had limp lettuce and soggy bread. Coffee was instant. Worst was I wanted to try the pancakes so I ordered it exactly as it said in the menu "2 pancakes". It took until 15 minutes after everyone was finished eating for the pancakes to finally arrive-service is extremely slow by the way in this place. So cook brings out 4 pancakes instead of the two, so I guess the owner who had taken the order thought I said 2 orders of 2 pancakes, which I didn't. The cook was nice and was about to take the unordered pancakes back to the kitchen, when the owner brashly interrupted and ordered her, like a servant, to leave the plate on the table, because "we ordered it" . Ok, so a misunderstanding, but in good customer service, she should have not handled it so rudely. My husband and I managed to eat about a total of one, because they tasted nasty and she offered to wrap the rest. No thanks. We still left the suggested tip of 10 percent, which she definitely didn't deserve. We figured if she behaves so greedily over two pancakes, she must really need the money. Not recommended. There are other places in con con with good service and food, plus the view. …
The best things about this place are its view over the Pacific Ocean, and the bathtubs where you can enjoy a wonderful jacuzzi. The cottages are small and not really comfortable. The bathroom is small and the fittings are basic. I'd definitely recommend having breakfast here, though: they serve nice fresh bread and fruit. It's very far from the beach, in case you would like to know. You can only get to the Thalassus by car, and the parking place is outside on the street.
