The hostel in puerto maldanado is perfect, very relaxed, great price and lovely staff. I did a 2 night 3 day trip to the jungle with them and had a really good first experience of the jungle. It's very beautiful there and not touristic at all so really peaceful. We saw some aligators, monkeys, parrots. Would recommend.

Me and 5 of my friends stayed here and have had a very pleasant experience from arriving to leaving. The family are all lovely and their place in the jungle is nothing short of a paradise with fruits in the trees and beautiful birds flying around. The accommodation both in Puerto Maldonado and the jungle is basic, but if your... More

There is a 5 hour boat ride up River to the lodge where Starfruit grows on trees! Butterflies are everywhere, parrots are everywhere! Caimans, m-fing electric eels! Great host, grear bananas, treated me like family... More

I went three days and two nights with a friend to the jungle lodge owned by Eduardo and his wife. They both put a lot of love into that project and they really take care of you. Food is amazing and the tours will definitively widen your knowledge about the jungle concerning animals, eatable fruits and huge plants. It´s highly... More

El Gato is an amazing place to spend few days in the rainforest. The hospitality is simple but you don't need more than that! The food is good and well presented. Beds are comfortable and includes a moskito net, a candle, no electricity but seriously do you really need it while in the rainforest? Our guide didn't speak well english... More

El Gato is a great place to spend some quiet time in the Amazon- basic accommodations, but nice. Pros Clay lick, hide, and fun trails. Food is plentiful and presented beautifully. The very best part of this "microlodge" is the wonderful swimming pond to escape the heat. Cons There are tons of bitey insects. The mosquito nets are a bit... More

El Gato is very basic, but... Do you want a few days with peace and quiet without a lot of tourists, this is the right place. The food is pretty good but nothing extravagant. They run a generator for a few hours at night to charge batteries for camera. There is little lighting but please bring your own flashlight. The... More
