If you are into eco-tourism with a side of comfort, this is the place for you. They definitely strive to preserve the area...and there tend to be a fair number of animals (mostly monkeys) near the lodge. A few things that you need to know. - From the lodge headquarters in Puerto Maldonado, it's about a 45 minute bus ride...

The journey to the hotel was chaotic for the guests, but the guides knew the routine. The guides tend to work together, which can lead to three separate groups of 8-10 people becoming one huge bunch. The rooms don't have full height walls,so there is a lack of privacy. It is also noisy at times, as people chat or snore! Outdoor...

We had a really amazing stay in this wonderful place along the Tambopata River. The rooms were furnished with local wood with one wall open to the rainforest. There were mosquito nets to protect against the insects. However, the sounds of the rainforest at night were exquisite and will remain one of my favourite sounds for life. The tours were...

This was by far one of the most memorable experiences. You pretty much sleep in the wilderness. But behold the faint of heart you will survive, it is not so bad in terms of insects and scary animals, they stay in the jungle. The accommodations are really clean and the bed comfy. Our guide Julio Cesar was a real animal...

My Grandmother and I stayed at Posada Amazonas for three nights. The staff at Rainforest Expeditions took care of us from the moment we stepped off the airplane. The facilities are immaculate and food was fabulous, including plated desserts! Guides are native to the region, all are incredibly knowledgeable and personable. The humidity does not allow clothing to dry so...

Really, your room does only have 3 walls. The 4th is open to the jungle beyond! Mosquito nets keep you bug free at night. Don't leave your lights on in the evening, and all will be good at bedtime! Be aware that the walls are thin, & the ceiling shared with adjoining rooms is only mesh screening. Voices and sounds...

4 days and 3 nights in the Amazon. A fantastic experience, sleeping in rooms with only three walls and mosquitos nets over the beds. I slept so well here. So many new experiences. Great food! My kids were thrilled to go fishing for Piranhas at the lake. They love to say the first fish they ever caught was a piranha....

We first visited Posada Amazonas on 2009 and had such a wonderful time that we decided to return. It still had that unspoilt, remote feeling and had not changed a great deal except for the addition of some more lodges and electricity in our rooms twice a day - brilliant. Although our excursions were similar to 8 years ago we...

We had 4 days and three nights to experience the forest as natural resource and as touristic product ; well trained indigenous community-based guides with excellent knowledge of the nature, traditional practices and medicine, and good English! The infrastructure appropriate and environmental friendly. I understood that the Posada Amazonas will be transfer to the community in the medium term, which...
