We spent three days at La Casa de la Boya and it felt cozy, friendly, difinetly recommended. We could enjoy an "asado" in one of the new oven available for the guests, riding the waves with the surf boards the hostel provide and sipping a glass of wine in their lounge in front of the ocean. Thanks Juan for looking after us, we will definetly come back

We were 5 friends travelling in Urugauy, we stayed 2 nights at this hostel and had a great time. Friendly staff, beautiful location at the beach and clean rooms. They have a very well equiped kitchen and big bbq place were everybody comes together at night. Breakfast is simple but good. Next time I go to Uruguay I will for sure stay again in La Casa de las Boyas.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Stayed in a 6 person, non air conditioned dorm room for 3 nights. The location is great. The place is very close to the beach and you can rent a beach umbrella to make life a bit easier. The walk to the downtown is about 10 minutes. The breakfast was great, however the kitchen wasn't that clean when we used it. This may have been more that other guests didn't clean up after themselves then managements lack of cleaning. The bathrooms were good, constantly wet floors, but I expect nothing more as it's a beachside hostel. This place was great for a peaceful night and relaxed atmosphere. Just prepare for a hot night if you stay in a non air conditioned dorm!

We had a great stay at this hostel. Nice staff and perfect location. The breakfast was ok, and the rooms were clean. A close walk to the grocery store, and "the city". There was also a nice Swimmingpool. This is a good hostel to stay in if you want a good night sleep.

I can't say enough good things about this hostel... First, it's in a great location - not only are you steps away from the sand, but you can also see the beach from most rooms and hear the waves when you sleep at night. The rooms/bathrooms and common areas are kept very clean. The actual hostel is bright and airy, you feel like you're at a beach house. Beds are comfortable - linens are provided and beds have real comforters. The rooms are spacious, so even when the room is fully occupied, you still feel like you have enough room for you and your stuff and you're not tripping over other peoples things. The staff are all lovely and helpful, and the owner is on premise - he's sort of behind the scenes but you know hes there making sure everything is running as it should be. I wish there were more hostels out there like this one!
