This place was fantastic! The owner met us at the front gate and was very friendly and helpful. We were there a bit early but he invited us to use the pool while we waited. Once we got into our room, we were thrilled. The room was beautiful and immaculate! We were a 5 min walk from Punta Viuja and a 20 min walk from Punta de los Pescadores. We chose to walk to Pescadores twice in a day because it seemed to be where the action was (restaurants, bars, shops). Breakfast was served but we decided to hit the road a bit early and when we checked out, the owner asked us what our route to Punta del Este was. He gave us a different route that took us down the coast and it was perfect! Would HIGHLY recommend this place!

Rooms are immaculate, beds are comfortable, good shower, large refrigerator. This is a simple place but very relaxing and warm. Nicolas and Veronica couldn't have been more helpful or nicer. Nicolas showed a genuine interest in us and did everything he could to make sure we had a great time. We could not have asked for a better stay. This was by far our best experience in Uruguay and it was all due to our hosts. Thank you for sharing your home with us--we can't wait to see you in Chicago!

This hotel is safe, clean and the rooms are well equipped. I don't know how Nicolas could have been a better host. He showed a genuine interest in making sure I had a great time and helping me with travel arrangements for further down the line in my trip.

In two months of traveling in Brasil, Argentina and Uruguay our 4 night stay at El Diablo y El Mar was the most enjoyable stop. Nicolas and Veronica are personable, easy to like hosts who know what their quests appreciate and they deliver... open and quite ambiance, clean rooms, a tasty breakfast served on your deck space, good beds, hot showers, reliable wifi. If you are looking for suggestions and information re: Punta del Diablo and Montevideo, Nicolas is the man to ask. We had intended stay a couple nights and then find a place on the beach but El Diablo y El Mar was just too friendly and comfortable to leave and, as it turned out, we liked being slightly removed from the commercial activity closer to the water. I looked forward to an easy, relaxing walk back after dinner. Hopefully we'll come back to Uruguay and will stay with Nicolas and Veronica again.

The room was immaculate- the bed was very comfortable, scalding hot water, Wi-Fi, refrig., TV, etc. Breakfast in the morning. Management is spectacular, very friendly and accommodating with great tips on where to go and what to do. Free parking out front. Close enough to walk to the beach if you want. Very pleased.
