My wife and I stayed here for four nights to visit St. Emilion and Bordeaux. Frankly we barely made it to Bordeaux, because we liked Clos 1906 and St. Emilion so much.
Eduard maintains an impeccable and warm B&B, with our favorite room (out of 6 hotels on the trip) characterized by stone-block construction, beautiful large windows, tall ceilings, a wonderful bath and separate shower, a separate area to sit and a Nespresso maker and honesty bar. (And we were not in his best room.)
Breakfast is extensive and delicious, though could use more variety (of pastries and fruit) for those who stay more than a couple nights.
Also, location is IDEAL for St. Emilion if you like to walk at all - only about a mile (?) and very pleasant. We walked all over vineyards and back and forth to town - hence little travel to Bordeaux.

We had the pleasure of staying at Clos 1906 for four nights. My husband and I were part of a group of 8, so we had rented 4 rooms at the inn. My many emails to Eduard, the host and owner, were responded to quickly and most helpfully. By the time we arrived, our dinner reservations were all sorted out and we were supplied with lots of helpful hints for seeing the area.
Eduard was most accommodating and Clos 1906 was perfect for our group. It is an intimate, beautifully decorated, comfortable, well appointed inn. Breakfast was continental, with delicious coffee, yogurt, fruit, croissants, jams, etc. The living room had plenty of room for us to congregate and visit while sharing a bottle of wine or another drink from the Clos 1906 honor bar. We also discovered a lovely spot by the pool that was the perfect place to enjoy pre dinner wine and cheese.
All in all, the recently renovated Clos 1906 exceeded our expectations and gave us the perfect home to recharge at in between all of our wine tastings!

We are so glad we chose Clos 1906 for our brief stay in St Emilion. Upon arrival (about one hour from the Bordeaux airport) we found this charming facility about one mile from the village. The courtyard was small but inviting. Upon entering we were warmly greeted and shown to our room and the grounds. This property is more than a bed and breakfast. It is a small (5 rooms) and intimate. Our hosts, Eduard and David, were gracious and the property was punctuated with lovely touches such as fresh flowers, an impeccable pool and wonderful antique furniture.
Our room (Clos 1906 suite) was spacious and beautifully furnished. Large bathroom with tub and shower and a wonderful king sized bed with a fluffy duvet comforter.
Breakfast is included and served in the kitchen on the lower level. Fresh cheese, ham, fruit, yogurt and bread all served by our host. Eduard is from Barcelona but spoke perfect English and French.
The pool was pristine and inviting, especially with the 80 degree temperature on the day we arrived. It is a short drive to the top of the hill where the village (commune) of St Emilion is located. Parking is at a premium in the village but once parked, there is a never ending visual and historical treat wherever you look. Lovely restaurants, hotels, shops and plenty of wine stores all around.
We are already considering bringing a select group back to Clos 1906 for a longer stay. We can enthusiastically recommend Clos 1906 but they are closed for a few weeks in low season (December/January).
Can't wait to visit again. Thank you Eduard and Dave for a lovely visit.

A group of my friends stayed here for a ladies trip. It was SO ideal. Not only was the Clos 1906 impeccable, but the host was lovely, warm, kind and welcoming. Highlights of this place include: The breakfast outside in the garden, the lounge area by the pool, the vineyards surrounding us, stunning rooms and apartment were a perfect getaway from Paris. We were only a 7 min walk from the local train station and a 20 min walk from the town center. It was a PERFECT place and a slice of heaven on Earth.

One of the best places we have stayed in. The service was exceptional. We didn't have a car, but Clos 1906 is located between the train station and St Emillion about 5-10 minutes from each. The highlights were the walks back at night after dinner in St Emillion, back through the vinyards under the stars. We also spent the afternoons by the pool. It was all perfect.

We stayed at Clos 1906 during our first trip to St. Emillion and it was absolutely perfect. Eduard is the consummate host, genteel and kind, and beyond helpful as we figured out restaurant reservations, winery visits and even how to charge our electric car.
The room was large and comfortable with lots of light, high ceilings and nice details like slippers and a coffee maker and an incredible TV platform (rare in Europe) and blazing fast internet (also rare in Europe). Hot water was instant and plentiful. Lovely soaps and lotions in the bathroom. Beautiful breakfast in a lovely breakfast room that's like a cafe. Easy parking. Lovely bedding and comfortable mattress (I'm picky).
This compared very favorably to hotels three times the cost on this trip including two Relais & Chateaux properties. This felt more like a luxury hotel than a B&B with zero forced social interaction which is what we usually don't like about B&B's in the USA.
Easy 5 minute drive into town or 15 minute walk.
Highly recommended. Book this place and start working with Eduard on your restaurant reservations.

This was the perfect place to stay to access St. Emilion and the surrounding wineries. It is a quick walk from the train station and a pleasant walk into town. The place was recently renovated, so it has the perfect mix of modern comfort and 18th century charm!
Eduard was so kind and helpful in making recommendations of places to visit and arranging some visits to chateaus. We loved the generous breakfast in the garden and sitting by the pool in the afternoons.
We stayed in the Suite Clos 1906 - it was very spacious, comfortable, and had large and gorgeous bathroom with Caudalie products.
Can't wait to go again! Merci!

My husband and myself have just come back from a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Clos 1906. The hotel is located about 20 mins away from the centre of St Emilion which is perfect as you are nearby but not in the middle of this popular tourist spot. The property is immaculate and the interior is high end. We stayed in the St Emilion suite which was flawless, the bed and bathroom are huge and the room is very quiet. Our host Eduard was very welcoming and helpful with restaurant, vineyards and wine tastings suggestions. We visited Bordeaux while we there and he gave us tips for this also. We had a small issue one night with the air con, the next day Eduard offered us the apartment or another room at no extra charge - this was beyond 5 star service. The breakfast is continental but plenty of it with freshly squeezed orange juice, croissants, bread, yoghurt, fruit, homemade cakes etc. There is a lovely pool and terrace area, unfortunately there were a lot of mosquitoes so we didn’t sit outside otherwise we would have used the honesty bar and had a sundowner overlooking the stunning countryside.I would recommend this hotel and Eduard particularly, we hope to come back one day.

Sometimes when you are travelling you stay somewhere that is perfect in everyway and this definitely is the case with Clos 1906.
Edouard ( the owner) made our stay just perfect .
The rooms are spectacular- the decor is stunning and the rooms very spacious and the detail is beyond anything you expect . Clos 1906 is an easy walk to Saint Emilion . Breakfast was beautifully presented - Fresh and Perfect . Nothing was too much trouble with Edouard helping booking Wine Tasting and Restaurant Reservations . I was very sad to leave after 5 Nights . My husband and I recently stayed two nights at Clos 1906. It was a wonderful! Eduard was so kind and helped us arrange winery visits and dinner reservations prior to our visit; thank you kindly Eduard! All were fantastic! Our room was large, comfortable, lovely amenities, and clean. We enjoyed having Nespresso in our room every morning! While we only had breakfast one of the mornings, it was great; the kitichen area is wonderful! There were designated spots to park our rental car on property which was safe! We loved driving around the Saint-Émilion area which was beautiful. The village of Saint-Émilion was a short 3-5 minute drive! We definitely will come back to visit! Thank you Clos 1906!!!
