The rooms are very clean and the view was amazing. It's a great place for kids! Breakfast was great, staff was friendly. Definitely recommended for a nice family stay. What I did not like was the bathroom, it was way too dark, a bit too much of the knight's castle atmosphere for me. Check-in and check-out was contactless and super quick.

Perfect location to visit the Park, helpful staff, very good restaurants in the hotel resort. Definitely recommended for a nice family stay. Great breakfast. But we did not spend a lot of time in the hotel.

The hotel is beautifull. The staff are really nice and helpfull. Especially Miss Lena behind the reception was amazing and so kind. Breakfast was amazing, many choices and very tasty. We had a great stay and dreaming of comming back. Just one little thing - there was no English menue at the cocktail bar...

Breakfast is very good (variety and taste), but the room is extremely basic:
No safe, no coffee/tea set, no mini bar or refrigerator. I know it should resembles knights in a fortress, but hey, we are in 2016, we need some amenities.

I hope other EuropePark hotel are better in this aspect.

Great location along with the other Europa Park hotels situated towards the rear of the park. Hotel guests at Europa Park have their own park entrance gate, their own Monorail stop, and are granted early entry/access to certain rides 30-60 minutes before park opening each day. The hotel itself is a Spanish theme (along with the two adjoining hotels which it shares check in/amenities with). Alcazar itself had the best theme to us, and was in a tower overlooking the park, which the other two Spanish properties did not have. All three were excellently themed and well appointed. Like any family/tourist hotel, we had our fair share of loud/obnoxious families around us, though this was mitigated pretty well with the extra hall door that separated the first two rooms from the rest of the floor (it's difficult to explain, but request a room with the extra hall door if you want to avoid loud people/kids).
The room itself was fabulous! The quality and attention to detail is the best I've ever seen in a hotel room. The theme is complete down to the amazingly crafted chairs and the tiled shower! There were a few major complaints though. We were in an upper floor room with what looked like a thermostat, but it did not function at all. I have seem similar complaints in previous reviews so beware of that. Another thing I found disconcerting was the screen blocking out the (otherwise spectacular) view of the park. It appears that you can have the screen removed if you "upgrade" for a fee (not confirmed, but our screen was gone the next day when another group was occupying the room and I noticed in a few room descriptions on various hotel websites that the more expensive rooms had the "view" while others on the same floor were blocked with these screens.) However, the lack of a view and the loud families aside, our stay there was superb. I'm sure that our next trip to Europa Park will include another stay at this or one of the park's other great hotel properties. Note that discounted park tickets are also available to hotel guests, another perk.

We traveled to hotel Castillo Alcazar with our 2 children aged 8 and 11 and we all had an absolute blast. I have to admit that the hotel has exceeded my expectations as I was quite skeptical of what I would get from a "theme" hotel. The decoration is really well done, and everything matches the "old castle" style. The kids loved the room with the bumper beds and the "middle ages" decoration. Only downside: it was quite noisy and we could here people in the hall as if they were inside the room. Check-in was smooth, the lady at reception friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the buffet restaurant, and here again, I was positively surprised. Good food quality, wide choice... actually much better than some 5 stars hotel I have stayed at. Pitty the room where we ate reeked of old cigarette smoke (it's a tent looking room, outside of the main building where the buffet is - still, it shouldn't smell of cigarette where you eat). The breakfast buffet was great too. One advantage of the hotel is the direct access to Europapark, which you can enter 1/2 hour before the general public. There was a small line for check-out on the day of our departure, but with the express check-out form I was done in less than 1 minute. Fastest I've ever checked out of a hotel and the bill was emailed to me within less than 24 hours. I can definitely recommend this hotel for families traveling with kids, whether toddlers or teenagers. I'm not sure though I would want to go there if I weren't traveling with children.

Surely when you are going to Rust , so your goal is using Europa-Park and enjoy a fun holiday.
Most of us should pass a long journey to reach the Rust , so it is logic to stay in the best hotel in there , and undoubtedly it is Castillo Alcazar. Very special hotel with unique design and very different sphere. Very kind staff , very nice restaurant and go to park easily.

My wife and our 2 kids (6 and 11 years old) spent for the 2nd times 2 nights in Hotel Castillo Alcazar, in August 2011. We booked room 591, with view on the park. The room was large, well equiped (but no minibar !) and generally speaking very clean, compared to what you can see in Disneyland Paris for example. The buffet in the restaurant costs 27 Euro per adult and 10 Euro per kid, it really worth to eat there due to good food quality and choices available. There were enough staff, were helpful at all times and speak several languages.

So, to resume :

Positive points :
--------------------

1) Very clean hotel.
2) Service was very good.
3) Restaurant is offering large choice of food at correct prices.

Points to be improved :
-----------------------------

1) The bell of Santa Isabel Hotel is noisy and can disturb your sleep.
2) The noise of people shouting and dancing in the park during Saturday evening party will not let you sleep peacefully (due to concert lasting until 00:00...).
3) Room was too hot and we could not reduce temperature.

Well, that's it. It's a very good hotel for family but expect, as always in such kind of hotels, many people and animations all around.

Perhaps our expectations were a bit too high of a 4-star hotel (in Germany). Perhaps.

Then again, paying ~340 EUR for a room with 4 adults for one night is definitely not a low price by any means (even if it is "4-starred").

The hotel building from the outside is quite nice, giving off the feeling that it is a Spanish castle. The inside tries to mimic the feeling of being inside a Spanish castle, doing it's best to hide the fact that, well, it is a hotel. No problem there and relatively neatly done.

The rooms are where our review starts to get a bit more just "acceptable". Even though due to the coronavirus the number of guests greatly dwindled, we still found some things to be not clean in the room. For example, the bedsheet cover - although it seemed washed - had smudges on it, probably from previous guests.

On top, in the restaurant we experienced sometimes even borderline rude behavior and general crankiness from the service staff. All this is understandable (since wearing the masks makes everything much harder and more complicated for everyone), but still something that should not be the case for a 4-star hotel. In addition, we had the feeling that there were not enough people waiting for tables in the restaurant, but more on that in our dedicated "Castillo" review.

Perhaps - if we come a second time - we will try out more of the hotel amenities or try to come through a special deal and then could give a better rating, but for the time being: don't go with high expectations and you will be fine. 3/5

Room was actually pretty horrible. Toilet door didn’t shut, one toilet despite this being a family room (5), and room was seriously dated and had a cold feel.

Location was excellent, but the gym is a long walk under the highway to the bell rock hotel, but nice once you arrive.

The Italian restaurant downstairs had some of the worst service I’ve even experienced in Germany. Very rude, arrogant, slow, not a good experience.

Europa park was excellent though so still worth it. Next time we will stay at another hotel.
