If you go there don’t expect a hotel experience, because it isn’t. It’s more like a bed & breakfast.
I have stayed there for two times in two different rooms, both were different, but both very comfortable.
Very clean bathrooms, working TVs (be warned if you are an international guest as I don’t think there are any non-German programs).
In case you don’t want room cleanes nor your towels changed daily, they do give you a discount, which is really nice, because usually you won’t stay here for more than a couple of days.
They offer free parking across the entrance or behind the building in a spot that’s a tricky to find and leads you down an unpaved road, this is where it shows that Rust, even with Europa Park and all the tourists coming with it, is still a village.

The included breakfast was amazing, you get a selection of sausages and cheese, scrambled eggs and bacon, fruits, coffee, tea, basically the full continental breakfast.

I personally highly recommend this place if you want to visit Europa Park for a couple of days, for a lengthy stay there are other options around the area.

Went to Europapark and looked for a room the morning itself. Very friendly staff and offered us a room immediatly. Had a discount through booking. Hotel is 3 min walk from the park. Breakfast and coffee was good. Option to take away. Wifi didn't work in the room but we didn't bother. They have free parking and a nice garden to chill in. Had a very lovely stay and we will be back.

Nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood, only 5 minutes walking from the entrance of Europapark and the adjacent bus stop. The bus stop comes in handy for the Rulantica waterpark. Also the town centre wasn't far away from the hotel either. The breakfast was good as well.
The quality of the hotel is good and the price is affordable.

Room Tip: The bus stop is just a few minutes away. From here some buses go to the rulantica waterpark....

If you want an option to stay while visiting Europa Park, this is your choise!
Perfect distance, near buses, park, restaurants.
Breakfast is simple but enough of options.
24h check-in is available which is awesome.
I would recommend this for sure!

We stayed here for one night and visited Europa Park for 2 days. On arrival, we were allowed to park our car while we spent the day in the park. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The breakfast buffet was plenty. We enjoyed our stay very much!!

We stayed here as we were visiting EuropaPark.

It's a ok place. The room is clean but also very spartanic with absolutely no extra "luxury" - only basics is there. But ok - it's cheap so I didn't really expect any thing else.

The location to EuropaPark is very good - only 5-10 min. walk depending on speed.

Nice breakfast - nothing extrordinary but decent.

They have a pool - but it's very small. I don't know how it normally is, but during this summers heat wave with temp. around 40 degrees they had trouble keeping it clean and cold. The water turned "cloudy" and you couldn't see the bottom(only 1,4 meters deep).

The staff is very kind, friendly and helpfull - when they are there. only between 09-12. at other times only availability is by phone. The number is on the closed reception door.

Gaestehaus Schmidt is not your standard hotel, it is more of a guest house. If you go with that expectation, it is adequate for a stay near Europa Park.

The Good:
+ Less than 10 mins walk to Europa Park
+ Free parking
+ Free internet
+ Reasonably priced
+ Helpful staff
+ Largish rooms
+ Small swimming pool for a hot day (it was way too cold for us to even venture there)

The not so good:
- I had a child of 5yrs, but was charged for triple occupancy. Normally this would be free as child in parents' bed
- Sleeping comfort wasn't the best.
- Check in after 2pm only. However, you can leave your car behind at the parking and head out to Europa Park. The room will be ready when you return
- It wasn't the cleanest or the best maintained property that I came across while in Germany.

In summary, a good option if you want something basic near Europa Park at a reasonable price.

Stayed here with my teenage son and daughter due to proximity to Europa-park. I made the mistake of booking a treble room believing that I would be put in a room with three beds. This was not the case, the room having a double and a single bed. Manager helpful in resolving the problem.
The good points:
The hotel is less than ten minutes walk to Europa-Park. This was extremely useful in the middle of the afternoon as we were able to take a break from the queues at Europa-Park and return to a place of calm. The hotel also had its own parking. Ensure you get clear instructions of how to find it.
All the staf were friendly.
The rooms are clean and there were some nice touches.
Swimming pool - Extremely small but served its purpose on a hot afternoon!!!!
The downside.
The room we were in was accessed by an outside metal stair case which was also used by other guests to get to their room. Unfortunately this made the room extremely noisy as everyone had to walk past our room.
The door to the room had frosted glass with no blind or curtain. No issue of privacy. However the door let light in especially since immediately outside was a light which turned on every time anyone walked up the stairs and passed our room. The noise and the light did not make for a good night's sleep. This would be the main reason why we would not stay again.
The breakfast was adequate. We did not sample the Thai food in the evening.
In summary. Great location. Helpful manager. Clean room. Draw back the noise of the outside metal stairwell and the lack of curtains meant an interrupted night sleep with the regular flitting on and off of the outside light.
