Whilst staying on St Mary's we had lunch here several times. Food was lovely and staff very friendly and helpful. Really quaint hotel and would love to stay here on a return visit. The views and grounds were gorgeous.

The Star Castle is an incredible setting and very worth a visit. The restaurant is full of character (and characters) and the menu is a great mix of options. Service was pleasant and the food good - just not quite as mind-blowing as it could have been given the setting and price.

Some of the best views in Scilly are from the terrace of the Star Castle. We have stayed in both the castle and garden rooms, and both are lovely. Garden rooms are dog friendly. A place that makes you feel completely taken care of. We stayed here when we got married and for two separate anniversaries (so far) and hope to return soon. Dinners also excellent.

Superb service and reasonable priced menu. Nice authentic outdoor seating with good views. Drink prices reflect a hotel of this standard though. Would vist again and consider a stay if pricing permits

From the moment we arrived we felt well looked after and all staff were helpful and smiling….we enjoyed the bar, restaurant at both dinner and breakfast and the sea views from our room which were stunning. Reception were helpful in organising excursions and advice on the best things to to, we really enjoyed a day out to St Agnes and even encountered Wally on the way home! Thanks to all the hotel staff for looking after us so well.

A destination long overdue. A very special trip for 5 days. B&B + Dinner. Our stay in the garden room was a true holiday. Relaxing, calming, a wonderful setting and very good food. Certainly the place to stay on St Mary’s Isles of Scilly. Without exception all the staff were friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make our stay special. Raff the owner of Calypso ll boat who visited the guests every day to give us information on the islands always delivered an excellent days trip. Certainly Scilly is a magical, special place. Every island offers its own special quality and history some dating to “prehistory”. The fauna.and flora would be more at home in hotter climates making Tresco amazing. The views and vistas from St Martin’s are stunning. Certainly a special…

We had a room in the main castle - not massive but cosy and characterful, clean and tidy. Very helpful staff throughout. Breakfasts were good and the evening meals were excellent, good wine. Nice indoor swimming pool also.

We had 5 nights here. Our room was a garden room. Most rooms are not in the actual hotel. They are in two rows of single story terraced buildings, a bit like a holiday camp. However the room was spacious with an en-suite. The room was very clean, Covid secure and comfortable. We slept well.

Dear BillM007 Thank you so much for your feedback. I am so pleased that you had a good stay and felt safe during these covid times. The rooms and suites in the gardens enable us to offer our guests outdoor space and many have sea views which we see as a huge bonus especially on Scilly. There are images of our garden rooms online and so I hope this did not come as a surprise. I do hope that you will visit us again in the near future. Many thanks Victoria

I have eaten in many restaurants that claim to be fine dining, only to feel disappointed and let down at the inadequate standards. This is definitely not the case here. I experienced the most perfect service, well presented plates, and most importantly food that tastes wonderful. One of the most memorable dining experiences ever and I hope to be lucky to visit again.
