The restaurant itself was quaint and well maintained. The service was average, and the food was wholesome country fare that was well-priced and generous of serve, however there was an overall lack of atmosphere. We would happily return, but it is not our first choice in Bridgetown.

Not really flash but clean, good showers and a nice breakfast menu served by a lovely lady who was also doing reception duties. Will be staying there again late October 2017, and probably every year hence for the Marathon.

We were visiting Bridgetown with some friends and stayed at Nelson's. We were expecting the food to be reasonably average - but were very pleasantly surprised at how good the food and service was. The steaks were very large and cooked to perfection. The poached eggs for breakfast were another surprise ... organic free range local eggs - again cooked...

Friendly and helpful staff. We shared a meal as serves were large. Medium price range. Drank some local cider and they had a good winelist. Set on the main street in an old hotel building. Accommodation available in varying styles and price range but didn't stay there ourselves.

A bit pricey but ticked all the boxes of what we'd expect. The chicken mignon was the pick of the dishes!! $9 for a 375ml bottle of beer probably a bit on the steep side. Thx for letting us take dessert away as the kids were absolutely beat.

My beloved and I had dinner at Nelson's a-la-carte restaurant, while staying in Bridgetown recently. Easy walking distance from where we were staying, as its on the main street in town. When we booked at Nelson's that afternoon, as we passed by on our way back to our accommodation, we were attended to by a very cheerful young lass (makes...

We did not stay at Nelson's - but ate dinner there twice whilst in Bridgetown for the long weekend, as it is only a short 5min stroll from Ford House where we were staying. The dining rooms are modern and clean, and the menu has quite a good variety of dishes on offer. On the Saturday night we had the...

The food overall at Nelsons is actually quite good. The starter platter we had was really nice and I'd happily order that again. The seafood pasta was a very generous portion but at the price paid you'd expect more than a heap of dried spaghetti with a basic sauce. The steak was good and the service okay. What really brings...

From the friendly voice on the phone , to the smiling face at reception ( Laura ?) , to the clean comfortable warm room ....Nelson's is a winner The facade of the main buildings is a welcoming sight as you enter Bridgetown from the south .... The rooms around in the side street don't really look anything special from the...
