We had a lovely two night mid week stay. As the lodge wasn't full Serge very kindly upgraded us to a spa bath room. The room was spacious with a comfortable spotlessly clean king size bed. It also had its own sitting area outside french doors overlooking the lovely garden. There's a comunal sitting area and good wifi. Serge is a friendly and helpful host who is always available on site. The house is just a few minutes walk to the beach and only a ten minute walk into town which has all the facilities you need. Parking is easy with a space for each room and on street parking is available.

I found Lanterns Retreat through a google search of accommodation in Dunsborough and saw that it had excellent reviews. When we got there, we found out why. It’s a lovely house, not sure when built, but it has the feel of somewhere Poirot or Miss Marple would have stayed and taken tea. This feeling is compounded by the lovely lounge where guests can sit and read books or take advantage of the complimentary hot drinks or port. The lounge has a little nook with breakfast bar and I used the toaster which worked very well. The rooms themselves are large with large ensuites and lovely features such as beautiful little velvet covered couch as well as my favourite functional feature, a microwave. The bed was king sized and really comfortable. One thing we really liked was our own door to outside, which gave us a great sense of space and freedom. The owner, Serge, is available but not at all intrusive. There is a lovely pool, which we didn’t use because the weather was a bit cool but it would be great in summer. We loved the place and think it would be great to host a murder mystery! We will return, with or without the murder. Thanks so much, Serge!

Our stay at Lanterns Retreat was absolutely lovely. We had the Hamelin room (spa room) it was beautiful, clean and calm. Serge was very welcoming and quick to help with any queries or recommendations. The spacious bnb was a home away from home with a tasteful decor.

My wife and I stay at the Baudin suit for two nights. I had some business to attend in the morning, then enjoying a nice lunch and was nothing better to come back to our home for the week end. This place is absolutely charming as much as serge who was really kind and helpful with every request we made. The room and facility are absolutely stunning, old French style, exactly what you want when you go to the country side to rest. I definitely recommend lanthern retreat for romantic week end or business week end. I will definitely be back very soon

Our king suite at Lanterns Retreat was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. The room overlooked the beautiful garden with French doors onto a verandah with a table and chairs for each room. The bathroom was large with a bath and great shower. The central common area is attractive and comfortable and our host, Serge, welcoming but not intrusive. This is a truly lovely, quiet place to stay in Dunsborough and we would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.
