I have stayed in many types of accommodation before and have never had to write a negative review, and so it is shame I have to write this. I was hesitant to book here after all of the negative reviews I’d read and it’s a shame I didn’t pay attention to them. Firstly, the accommodation is extremely dated and overpriced for what it is. It had not been thoroughly cleaned, and was dusty. There were very few cooking utensils and what they did have, was old and used. The accom itself was extremely small, and basic. Secondly, and most importantly, we had to cancel a night stay here as we had an emergency that we needed to travel back to Perth for. I called the emergency line and was assured by management I would not be charged on compassionate grounds if I picked up my belongings by 12pm, so we did just that. The next day I found the hotel had charged me $250. I called to question this due to the promise made to me on the phone by the owner. The lady on the phone told me that they will not be refunding me the money as this was never discussed and she did not know anything about it, which was a lie. She was extremely rude to me, and then told me “well you did leave the place a mess and items were left in the fridge”. I was shocked that this had even been brought up never mind being a reason for them to charge us. We had clearly checked out, as we had left the key and picked up our belongings. I told her the bin was not big enough for the empty boxes, and there were a few items in the fridge, as we had to leave in a rush. The hotel then sent me an email with a record from the cleaners that said due to food in the fridge, we had “not checked out” and the “Guest is expected to return to collect remaining food?”. We were not aware that we needed to return to collect remaining food for us to have ‘checked out’, we were never even contacted about this, and they had our contact details. It also said they had “checked the apartment at 5pm”, this shows they did not even bother to check if we had checked out at 12pm as discussed and promised by the owner. They did not even call us to tell us they were charging us. It is a shame that these days somebody’s word does not mean anything. These people are dishonest, disrespectful and have stolen money from our account for a service we did not receive, and without telling us. We are now having to work with our bank to get our money back. I would seriously consider other accom before booking here.

We stayed in a 2 story villa with an open top floor. Villa was quite nice, but dirty toilet was not cleaned, the cutlery drawer had crumbs and grated cheese in it, window sills above the bathroom sink was thick with dirt, and bed upstairs had a sheet on it with large stain, not very appealing to sleep in. I think it was way over priced for the type of accommodation, and would not consider this to be a resort in any way shape or form. Top floor bed was pushed up against safety fence in the open plan wouldn't recommend these villas with kids as would be pretty dangerous not sure it would meet safety standards. Wooden steps up to 2nd floor were so noisy anyone in the villa easily woken if upstairs guests needed to come down at night, units were quite hot, air-conditioning had to stay on especially for the top room, we couldn't shut our bedroom door as it would get hot. Each window faced another very close villa so no privacy. Accommodation is close to main cafes bakery and supermarkets. For $330 a night i think much better options elsewhere.

We had a few problems booking through Agoda . But was easier booking directly with bay village . The management are amazing . Loverly gentleman.. nothing was too much . We had a loverly 2 bedroom villa . Definitely ask for number 13 ... pretty cool surf board in one of the bedrooms . Neat design. Very relaxing . My daughter wouldn’t leave the pool ! But they should warm it up a bit more it was freezing . Definitely over priced . Lots of flys in dunsborough and the powder went out on New Year’s Eve .. but very Relaxing unit 13 . Thank you bay vill 🙏

Booked the cottage via Booking.com, did an upgrade to the 2 story villa and got the cottage. This may be because of Booking.com not forwarding the upgrading request. I arrived after 8 pm on Friday so tried to speak with management on Saturday. On 3 occassions, the office was unattended. So I left it at that. Arriving at night is a bit tricky. 2 cars were parked in front of the sign making me drive past multiple times without finding the entry/ office. You get your key by typing in part of your mobile phone in a locked box. Cottage was reasonable, clean and had everything for a comfort stay. Free Wi-Fi was really good. It was close to the beach and right in town. What I didn't like we're the bodybags at the end of the bed designed to strip off your own sheets at the end of the stay. I paid 265 dollars a night to receive a hotel service. I also feel the terminology "resort" is misleading here. The village contains more AirBnB type accommodation. Will I ever come back here? Unlikely.

Stayed in the luxury apartments which was nice and clean. The room had a spa bath which was lovely. I think the price was a bit too much (570 for two nights) when breakfast isn’t included and the room couldn’t be tidied by house keeping due to covid). The restaurant attached to the bay village is nice and worth a visit. The pool was disappointing. I would stay there again but not that for that money comparing it to other air b n bs I’ve stayed in for half the price. Even though it’s not an air b n b it’s self check in self catered etc.
