The location of the property is hidden off the road, and as we flew from London to Scotland on a Friday after work to make a Wedding on the Saturday, we arrived at midnight and the host still greeted us by the door. The property is huge and overlooks some rivers and hills and the (cream) room we were in...

Had a lovely time at Finglen House, I'd definitely recommend it to any travellers. The grounds are beautiful with a river and plenty of space to sit and enjoy looking at the countryside. It's very quiet and a perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of the outside, roughly half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Sabrina was a very...

We had a great time @ Finglen House. It is a lovely place, with a lot of small and nice details filled with live by Sabrina and Douglas. They gave us a wonderful time and were extremely thoughtful. Our stay was extraordinary and we would give them 6 stars :) if possible. Thanks so much - you made a big...

Lovely house in beautiful gardens which was conveniently located for a Wedding reception we attended at Kincaid House Hotel. The surrounding area is very scenic. Our hosts were very welcoming & ensured that we had a wonderful stay. I had mistakenly thought that I had booked a hotel but was delighted with my "mistake" & would definitely book Finglen House again.

Finglen House was easy to find using Google Maps. We arrived in Glasgow by plane and rented a car, and it took about 40 minutes to get to the house. It is situated at optimum driving distance from the main tourist attractions of southern Scotland (Stirling - 40 min, Edinburgh - 1 h 30 min). Finglen House is situated in...

We had great stay for a weekend travelling down from Scotland. The hosts were very accommodating in their most comfortable home. The garden was a delight to sit and relax in after a long drive. We spend a wonderful weekend here. Lovely house and room. Beautiful gardens and nice walks starting from the house. The hosts were very friendly and gave us very useful information on what to do during the weekend. Loch Lomond and conic hill hike. Farm show and scenic drive to one. Of the castles. They have an ideal location in a lovely village - hidden away feeling but 30 min to Glasgow and close to Trossachs. House and grounds are just amazing. We also enjoyed dinner and whisky tasting only minutes' drive away. The innkeepers' son William was a wonderful host for a portion of our stay and then Sabrina and Douglas returned. They...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Finglen House nestles at the foot of the spectacular Campsie Hills just 30 minutes north of Glasgow & 10 minutes from the National Park, 30 minutes from Loch Lomond. Finglen enjoys an idyllic setting bordered on one side by the Fin Burn, home to herons, dippers, Grey wagtail and mallard, and on the other by mature woodland. The beautiful eight acre garden gives a feeling of complete seclusion, rare for a property so close to Glasgow. Finglen provides an excellent base for expeditions to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling or for exploring and experiencing the sublime beauty of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. You could ride your bike all the way to Edinburgh or Glasgow without touching a road. Douglas works as a documentary cameraman and has travelled extensively in Scotland and is happy to give advice on expeditions further afield. ... more   less
