We stayed at the Thayer for an official USMA event. The hotel is loaded with character and history. I would have spent hours looking at pictures in the lobby and along all the halls. The room was very clean but was a bit small for my liking. Beds were comfortable and the room had everything in it one would expect....

Thank you for your wonderful review of The Historic Thayer Hotel at West Point! We’re glad to know you enjoyed your stay, and found the hotel abundant in history, class, and cleanliness. Our property has seen multi-million dollar renovations in the last few years, which have included the creation of 22 new Executive Suites. In addition, we welcomed a new...

Using the app Hotel Tonight, we booked a room at The Thayer for $100. As we pulled up, we realized that it's actually on the West Point campus and is a VERY formal hotel with gilded decor. After we adjusted to the opulence (backpacks in tow), the service was great and the room was very nice with a view of...

We loved the Thayer! We attended an Army retirement ceremony for my brother, and met many family members for several days of celebration at the hotel and surrounding West Point attractions. In addition to friendly staff and comfortable rooms, there are several choices for dining. Our favorite was breakfast on the terrace, with stellar service by Sergio. In the evening,...

Wonderful stay at a very beautiful location. We had an end room overlooking the hudson River and the beautiful grounds of the hotel. The room is small but the bath room is spacious and modern. I was totally surprised by the accommodations in this 100 year old establishment. the staff is wonderful and the meeting rooms were a sight to...

My best friends, husband and I have a brunch reunion every year at the Thayer. The food is amazing and so are the mimosas! What makes the experience the ultimate best is Sandy Fall. Our amazingly, friendly and thoughtful server. Sandy, thank you for reading our minds and knowing what we want before we ask for it. You're a kind...

We returned to the Thayer 10 years after our first trip to West Point and it keeps on getting better. Very reasonable rates, with an added discount for active or retired military. We had a corner room with a view of the river out one window and the garden out the other. There is a freight train that passes the...

I stayed last Friday night at this hotel in between hikes in the Hudson river valley. Upon walking in I was immediately apprehensive at all the wedding guest check-ins. Apparently they were hosting 4 different weddings that weekend! I requested a room away from the events and the rooftop bar, which they were able to accomodate. The hotel is huge...

My wife and I decided to stay there for the weekend to celebrate our 7th anniversary. The hotel was only 20 minutes from the Breakneck Ridge Loop at Hudson Highlands State Park (one of the best day hikes within 2 hours from NYC) and Brotherhood Winery (the oldest winery in America). It also has a fantastic restaurant (MacArthur’s), a comfortable...

Classic hotel in West Point. History everywhere and right on Hudson River in NY. You can walk to monuments on the campus are drive around. Views of Hudson are stunning. The hotel is full of recognition for our soldiers. We had breakfast overlooking the river and it was great. If you get a room on the river side they make...

West Point is amazing, the Thayer Hotel is less amazing. Beautiful location overlooking the Hudson River and within the first gate of West Point. Staff is friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the building and guest rooms need to be updated. If you have devices that need to be plugged in (phones, laptops, I Pads, CPAP machines) you will need to bring...
