Stayed in the Barkshed again (last time was ~10 years ago). Great little cabin near Gore mountain. We wanted a COVID friendly get away, this place is perfect. First off the cabin was immaculate, you could tell they really take care cleaning them. Second, the check in/out was 100% no contact. Basically they leave it unlocked for you and checking out just means leaving. All transactions were over the phone. We only had to see the owners (who live on the property and are very nice) because we locked ourselves out, everything else was email/phone. We cooked all our meals in the cabin and spent our days outside hiking and skiing. At night we hung out at the cabin, either out on the porch or inside playing board games (large selection in the cabin). The perfect COVID era get away. The cabin has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, there were only 2 of us, but we appreciated the 2nd bathroom so we could get ready at the same time on ski days. Very comfortable overall. No TV, which is really nice for this kind of get away. We didn't end up using it (too tired!), but there is a fireplace and plenty of wood is provided, there is also an outdoor firepit. Only complaint or more just an FYI is that there aren't any paper towels or napkins, so make sure to bring some. Gore mountain is around 10 minutes away and North Creek is close too if you need groceries or anything from a town. The mosaic in North Creek is worth checking out too. We'll be back for sure.…
The Cabins at the DillonhIll Inn are just wonderful. Set on a lovely piece of land, Claire and Gerrard don't miss out on anything as hosts. the cabins are rustic, homy and decorated beautifully. Great beds, showers are excellent with great hot water and pressure, very plush bath towels ( always needed after skiing) The kitchen is VERY well equipped, plenty of pots/pans dishware. The fireplace is wonderful with all the wood you could possibly burn. Location is only 10-12 minutes from Gore, perfect for a fun day on the slopes. We love it here, so much as I type this, i'm already reserving for our next trip in the next email!
Stayed December 2018 in the Bark Shed Cabin - We found Dillon Hill Inn & Cabins to be the perfect place to stay while we visited Mt. Gore. Only 10 minutes drive to the ski area, so super convenient. A number of small towns within a short drive away for restaurants, grocery stores and a pharmacy. The accommodation is perfect for families or two couples. With two separate bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and a really comfy living and kitchen area in between, it was such a welcome relief to come back to after skiing all day. Plenty of board games to play, so it was a nice break not to have television for a while. Heating was awesome, great showers, kitchen very well equipped and comfy beds and chairs. Gorgeous fireplace and loads of firewood available. Set back into the woods a bit away from the main house, it was incredible to wake up surrounded by trees and snow every morning. Hosts Claire & Gerard are very welcoming and go out of their way to ensure their guest's comfort. If we make it back to the area again, we will definitely be staying at Dillon Hill Inn again.…
We stayed in one of thw cabins while in the Adirondacks for family vacation. Simple and clean, dillon hill is located in a charming forest, not far from a small stream. Claire and Gerard are charming people, and the estate has great American farm flavour. Great for vacations involving tracking, fishing and rafting. Not so many food establishments in the area, so buy products on your way.
This place is one of the best places we have ever stayed at! The inn keepers, Claire and Gerard, are the best people you would ever want to meet. We will be going back in October. We highly recommend going here for a quiet, out of the way, retreat, that is away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. We never even checked what was going on in the world until we got in the car to go home! Claire and Gerard`s four golden retrievers Jim, Augie, Louie and Ralph are comedians and so lovable that you will want to take them home with you! The surrounding area has plenty of things to do with many, many stores and small shops. We checked out the cabins while we there and boy were they well equipped. Fire places, two bedrooms, kitchens, living room, etc. Walking the grounds is also a treat. We could go on forever talking about the Dillon Hill Inn. Go there and see for yourself. You will definitely agree.…
