The mountain views are beautiful, and the personnel working there are so friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, and it was enjoyable to dine on the covered terrace. A nice touch to have tea and cookies served in the afternoon.

We decided at the last minute to head to the mountains and fortunately our favorite inn had an available room! We've been to Gideon Ridge 4 or 5 times and each time we leave, we can't wait to return. The service is above excellent!!
Good service, stunning views, peace and quiet, always cool even in the middle of summer, great food.
The covered terrace and inside library are particularly nice.

They do not offer any transportation. This is a small, unique Inn - you would need a car to go anywhere. The Restaurant on premises is one of the finest in the area - if you make a room reservation make sure to made a dinner reservation also. One of the most beautiful things about the Inn and Blowing Rock is its proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and AT (Appalachian Trail). Make sure you get on a couple of trails/walks - they almost rival the view from the porch at the Inn !
