It was so nice we stayed an extra day. It's close to Wilmington where there is plenty to do and see. Close to the NC Aquarium, excellent, and the Southport Ferry, worth the trip. Rooms were small but very comfortable beds. If you're into TV it may be a problem if the house is full. The beach is right across the street...

We had a wonderful three day stay at the Beacon House B&B. Heather and Mike, the inn proprietors, were welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. They made many recommendations for great restaurants and things to do--in fact, Heather provided a list of recommended restaurants for both on and off the island. Mike is also the chef at the inn...

My husband and I had the good fortune to spend a night in a lovely vintage beach inn at Carolina Beach, NC. The inn dates from 1946 and has survived hurricanes and the ravages of time to become a charming and comfortable vintage establishment that you are not going to soon forget when you return to the humdrum day to...

Heather is a trip, so friendly and inviting, within 2 minutes we knew she was someone we'd love to hang out on the front porch with and have drinks, maybe next time, haha. She had great tips on food and the area in general.Super colorful person, we liked her immediately. Loved Mike, man can this guy cook, Heather is a...

We happened upon the Beacon House Inn on an impromptu visit to the North Carolina coast for Christmas. The weather has been unseasonably warm this fall and early winter so we figured we'd head to the beach. The Beacon House is outstanding. It is cute, quaint, close to the beach and overseen by two amazing and professional caretakers. Mike and...

Mike and Heather were great hosts. Heather provided lots of tips on places to eat and things to do in the area and Mike created excellent and original breakfasts. Home baked cakes or cookies were available all day, as well as a kettle and a selection of teas - particularly welcome for British visitors! Guests also had access to a...

Heather, Mike and Jeannie are great host. The inn is located just far enough away from the commercial area of Carolina Beach to be quite and close enough to walk to the boardwalk and retail shops. One half block to a public beach access. Our room and bath were a good size for a weekend stay and we found the...

Due to threat of Hurricane and flooding, Heather offered to postpone my trip one week and upgrade my room. When I arrived, Mike carried my heavy luggage upstairs for me. I stayed in the birdhouse room #3. The bedding was so incredibly nice and the bed was very comfortable. It has a nice large private bathroom attached. Each morning they...

What an incredible stay. Heather and Mike are the best! The breakfasts are no typical pancakes and sausage; you will be surprised every morning by a new gourmet meal. Mike switches off from a savory breakfast one morning, to a sweet the next, so you won't get bored and won't consider going anywhere else for breakfast! It is definitely the...
