We rented the unit at Trillium to spend time together and relax during the Thanksgiving break. The unit was clean, beautiful, and well-stocked for families. It was very spacious and served our family of 3 teenagers and 3 adults well. The staff was kind, attentive, and helpful when we had some issues with the TV and fireplace. We loved the location as it was 15 minutes from Cashiers which has shopping, a stocked community pond, and a great grocery store. The resort is 10 minutes from horseback rides, 10 from Christmas tree farms, 30 minutes from public parks for trout fishing, and close to hiking trails. Although the resort itself was closed for the season, the grounds were well-maintained, and we walked all over the area where we stayed. Be prepared to drive when you want to do something, but understand when you get back there is a wonderful place to rest and relax. The golf course is challenging and beautiful if you like golf. It is close to Lake Glenville, but NOT on the lake. We loved it and will be back!

We are Bluegreen owners and booked the Presidential Suite. It was perfect. Everything was immaculate. We had friends join us and everyone was impressed with the high end appliances and beautiful, comfortable furnishings. The master suite was downstairs with a large bath complete with a claw foot tub and shower. There were two bedrooms, a very large bathroom, and a sitting area with large screen television upstairs. The living area was spacious with a large screen television and fireplace. Our patio was complete with a very nice grill and a fireplace. It was perfect for the chilly evenings. The kitchen had a pantry to store things and was stocked with almost anything you would need. There was a coat rack and a half-bath just off the entry. Those wishing to stay should know that you must drive pretty much anywhere you need to go. The area is beautiful and there were nice shops and grocery stores nearby. We took day trips to nearby towns and especially enjoyed the local shops and restaurants. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating. We look forward to returning.

Reserved a three bedroom presidential. The room was very spacious with high-end appliances and a large dining area. The three bedrooms were comfortable, two upstairs and one at ground level. The second story bathroom was huge. There was a full bathroom with a tub and shower for the first level bedroom. Another half bath was available, too. We used the indoor gas fireplace frequently in the middle of January. We used the outdoor fireplace and gas grill, too. Compared to other Bluegreen resorts, there aren’t as many activities on-site at Club Lodges. However, if you work out or play tennis, the facilities are adequate to continue your fitness. If you lift heavy, not possible, But if you are creative, you can get your training completed. Tennis courts available, too.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was missing an item, and after notifying the check in desk, they brought the item to our place, which is over one mile away.

As we checked in recently, we were notified that we were a day early. The thought of finding another place to stay was difficult due to the harsh weather conditions, including falling snow and temperatures in the teens. The mountain roads were also beginning to get quite slippery. Just as we were about to depart and seek accommodations elsewhere, we were notified that the staff was working to fix our error. The front office staff, along with the manager, were extremely understanding and worked hard to find on-site accommodations. Happily, we were allowed to check in earlier than expected, due to the flexibility and understanding from the staff. Thank you for taking the time to make it happen.
One additional comment, the facility, setting, and lodges are magnificent.

We had been wanting to stay at the Club Lodges and finally got a reservation. We were not disappointed in the rooms or the location. The staff was very friendly and efficient in the running of the resort. It was very obvious they were proud of their facilities and were working to live up to the reputation Club Lodges has earned. The high point was seeing a bear on the Garden Golf course.
My only regret is that they are not closer to Texas.

We have been here before and we like going when it is still the winter season. There aren't many people around and it is very quiet and very nice. The rooms are so very nice, roomy, clean and very pleasant to stay in. The area is very nice and beautiful. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful. Lesley was excellent with directions. Tracy, Tonya, Katie, and Jane all Wonderful. We were very happy with our stay. If we had a need they got to it quickly. Very helpful.

New mostly duplex units (less than 5 years old) with balconies. Wonderful location in the middle of some nice curvy mountain roads. Motorcycle paradise if you like the twisties. Quaint mountain towns all around the area with great food and shopping. Golf course looks very nice, although I don't golf.

We are Bluegreen owners. Booked a 2 BR/2 Bath. There were 5 adults. The accommodations were very nice. The unit was VERY clean, we had everything we needed. The gas fireplace was nice, since we were there the week of Christmas. There were 2 balconies; one off the living room and one off the master BR. The master was downstairs with the bathroom. Really lovely view from both. The beds were really comfortable. Plenty of dishes, silverware, towels, etc. The only thing is that the 5th person complained that the roll-out couch was not comfortable. We had brought a blow up mattress which we used instead.

Didn't have much interaction with the staff, but the little I did have was very positive & they were very accommodating and kind. Easy check-in and check-out.

We had a great time exploring the area and the unit was so nice & cozy to come back to in the evening.

I will be coming back here again.

Beautiful 2 bedroom townhouse. Went for our 20th Anniversary. Bluegreen had us a gift of Anniversary glasses etched with Bluegreen. Very nice touch! We drive to a nearby hiking trail to a waterfall. It was difficult for me, but beautiful. Also went to the nearby lake public beach. Nice, relaxing trip, but would not go in winter months due to the winding, curvy roads.

Club Lodges at Trillium
Cashiers

We booked a 2 week stay here at this property.
The lady who got us checked in, Leslie, was very nice, and provided a wealth of information about this part of Western NC, which has been super useful and much appreciated!
When we checked in at this property, the staff also thoughtfully provided us with extra paper products, dishwashing soap, etc., since we'll be here 2 weeks. In addition, they put a crockpot, rice cooker and handmixer in our unit as requested, which is great. Using that crockpot to have meals ready when we come in from exploring has been so nice!

The unit is a 2 BR duplex, with 2 baths, laundry, and full kitchen. The king bed in the downstairs master BR is much more comfortable than the queen upstairs. We tried both! The unit was very clean when we arrived.
As a huge plus, there is not a sales/preview office here, so no pressure to sit through that "offer" to buy more points.
On the subject of points, don't let the timeshare convince you that if you are a premier owner you'll be given special consideration, because you will not. You'll get a black key for your unit that says "Premier." How special is that??

The reason the stay on this property doesn't rate a 5 out of 5 is because they put us in a unit beside the building that houses security & maintenance, and on the other side of that one is another for housekeeping.
Don't ever let them put you in this area near housekeeping, maintenance & security. They apparently have 2 duplexes assigned to them, but there are many employees, and the employees take the majority of the parking spaces around the units in this area; mostly for their personal vehicles, and additionally for the company golf carts and truck. Since the employees are using the parking spaces in this area, we owners & guests should have assigned parking. The paperwork we got at check-in is very specific about parking, and tells us we're only allowed 2 spaces per unit, and to park in designated spaces only. Our parking space(s) should be the one(s) closest to our half of this building, but with one or two short-term exceptions, those spaces have been in use by maintenance/security/housekeeping personnel. When you have suitcases or grocery bags to carry in & out, it makes it more difficult than it should be! Also, there is a posted 17 mph speed limit around the duplexes, but apparently some of the staff are exempt. The housekeepers cause constant traffic, and even though the info sheet we were given at check-in states that their hours are 8 am - 4 pm daily, some of the housekeepers (including Speedy - a housekeeper who drives her tiny black car as if on a racetrack) are here way past 4 pm. As a matter of fact its now past 8 pm, and Speedy is still parked in the space right next to our unit...which should be our assigned space.

This is also where the "common area" is located. There are 3 gas grills that at present are in disrepair. A maintenance worker told us they'll be replaced this year. There is also corn hole if you enjoy that.

When I called to ask some questions the week before we came, I told the lady at the front desk that we want to be in a quiet area, but I also asked if our unit has a grill. I guess the grill question is why we were put in a beehive with a view of the road. We've discussed that we would like to know, as owners, what action is necessary on our part to be given units with a view, quiet units on top floors (not an issue at this property since we have both floors!), etc. Our reservation was made months ago, and at the time there was a ton of availability. It would be nice if they could go ahead and assign a unit with a view at the time we reserve and our points are taken, regardless of ownership level! That would be fair, but as far as this timeshare goes, in my experience (and I've been an owner since 2007) things are not handled that way.

To sum up the property, the 2BR 2 Bath Units are roomy, comfy and clean upon arrival, and checkin was easy with lots of good info provided. We advise anyone visiting to be very specific about it if you want a mountain view, and if you want to be near the common area & grills, keep in mind you'll be in the beehive...with parking issues. Personally, we won't visit here again.

We visited the Cashiers Chamber of Commerce for Visitor's Info, and the gentleman there was very helpful, providing maps and personal recommendations for hiking. He referred us to the hiker shop in Cashiers, and the ladies there were also extremely helpful. Their Guide to Dayhikes has been a WONDERFUL resource that I highly recommend if you plan to hike in this area. They also sold us the Panthertown Trails map, and if you're going to hike in that area, it is not only helpful, but completely necessary. If you think you want to explore that area, get.that.map.

Cashiers/Highlands is an awesome, beautiful scenic area.
We enjoyed hiking in the national forest the first week. We've visited many waterfalls, and also a trail with multiple caves. Gorges State Park is not to be missed. The Rainbow Falls are awesome. Whitewater Falls is breathtaking. Dry Falls was great - being able to walk behind the falls.

The grocery store in town is expensive. The first order of business is to go to the front and request a free loyalty card. You'll get it on the spot, enabling you to get discounts & specials. You'll also accumulate fuel points that you can use at their fuel stations. You can't use them here, as there is no fuel station. I was told that Brevard has the closest one to Cashiers.

As beautiful as the area is, driving these roads is terrifying. They're extremely winding and narrow; many hairpin curves and steep grades. More often than not, people are in a huge hurry and ride your bumper, and then every other vehicle you meet is crossing the double yellow lines coming into the oncoming (your) lane. There is alot of construction going on, so many of the vehicles that ride the centerline are huge rock or dirt hauling trucks. If the roads/traffic were not like this, we might come back and find different accommodations. As it is, we'd rather not. Its hard to relax and enjoy your vacation under these driving conditions - even if the area is beautiful

Jasper, Georgia
Is there trout fishing
Answer from Bosnicks
Arkansas17 contributions13 helpful votes
We didn't fish, but there is a bridge over a running stream that looked like there COULD be trout. Reminds me of other trout streams I've seen anyway. There are a LOT of streams in the area. I'd call the chamber of commerce there to ask. I'd bet you can get a concrete answer from them. The man there was very helpful and knows the outdoors and that area well.
