This was our 2nd time at The Ivey's (a little staycation treat for parents of twin 4 year olds). It will no doubt be a tradition for us! This gorgeous boutique hotel is full of details, grace, and luxury. I feel absolutely refreshed! Everything is beautiful, elegant, and most of all comfortable! I'm the first to admit I get tired early and I loved that some of the places that were on my "to-do" list happened to be located in the hotel. We enjoyed drinks at Sophia's Lounge (check off the list) and my margarita was amazing. Did I mention I get tired? I loved that there was a nespresso in the room that gave me that boost I needed BEFORE the margarita. The next morning it was pouring! We had brunch reservations at Church and Union and we're please to discover that it's in the same building. The walk over was completely indoors and simple as can be. This was check out day for us and our bags were kindly held and car kept parked. Now - this hotel is lovely but we all know that a hotel is nothing without its staff. The Ivey's has some of the VERY BEST. Everyone is so kind, accommodating, and attentive. I couldn't have felt any more comfortable or looked ever. I wish I had everyone's name to give a HUGE THANK YOU but I didn't catch them all. Management, feel free to look up everyone working night of Jan 20, morning of Jan 21. I encountered so many and ALL ABOVE AND BEYOND AMAZING. Names I did catch...Lorenzo, Ty, KeeKee! You all made our weekend. I only regret we stayed just one day. Thank you thank you. 10 stars out of 5 😉…
It’s been awhile since I’ve elected to stay in a hotel over an Airbnb. I wanted something special for my milestone birthday. I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical. That was certainly put immediately to rest when we drove up ( it’s in the middle of Uptown Charlotte so on a very busy street surrounded by sky scrapers.) we were immediately greeted by Ty who took care of us with charm and class and friendliness . That continued when we were greeted by Adam in a quiet elegant reception Room so much better than a noisy front desk , where even at the best hotels I’ve had to wait in line. Adam was like being greeted by the perfect host to welcome us ,including our small pup, Sammy, into his own home. Knowledgeable , warm, great sense of humor ,also just as Ty,a class act . I felt an immediate sense of relief. Maybe I had chosen the best for my birthday after all . Our room, 207, was right up a lovely wrought iron stairway ( elevators are available ). It was gorgeous ! A bank of tall windows overlooking the city.. with thick double panes and heavy luxe black out curtains for sound control and privacy. The furnishings did wow right down to the Nespresso coffee maker , stocked mini Bar, …the bed was heavenly with triple sheeting and a good variety of pillows to choose from. The sheets were so soft they seemed like they had also been ironed. The Room felt like an old Parisian boudoir. Just beautiful . The bathroom had a wonderful soaking tub, separate shower , and separate WC . Plenty of Lush thick towels as well as lovely boutique vanity supplies. One of the most appreciated and amazing things was the quietness of the hallways, the cleaning staff so unobtrusive and polite. I forgot to mention the fabulous throw blanket on the bed! Sunday License makes them. They are thick and plush and just dreamy! They sell them downstairs in the small elegant boutique. My husband actually bought me one as a surprise birthday gift!!! The location is great. Many places to eat drink and be merry within walking distance . We unfortunately didn’t get to try the attached lounge, Sophie’s bc it was closed to private parties each night. There is a stunning room near the lounge called the library . Books on shelves, chandeliers, self serve coffee and drinks .. sofas , chairs and a few tables. The look of an elegant Drawing room. Madison gave me a key to it when I asked for a later checkout time as I had a later flight out of Charlotte. It was a real treat! We had great service and food at both Luce and The Capital Grill for dinners and the Cowboy grill for lunch. We truly loved this hotel experience. When I checked out the last morning Adam was there with Madison. She was every bit as friendly and helpful as Adam. In fact we decided to stay again four days later on our return trip home. Once again we were taken care of by Ty ,Adam , and Madison . There was another young gentleman also who was just as gracious though I didn’t get his name. The proprietor of the gift shop was also very personable. So this IS now our / my home away from home! I fly out of Charlotte several times a year to visit family in Fla. and will not hesitate to call on this wonderful staff at the Iveys! Many thanks for a fabulous time!…
My best friend and I came to Charlotte for a concert at the Spectrum Center, and I booked this hotel due to the proximity to the venue and to restaurants nearby so we could just walk everywhere. We had talked about staying at The Ritz due to how close it was to the venue, but we chose this hotel due to all of the restaurants nearby. To say that this hotel is awesome is an understatement, and having stayed in a few awesome Ritz hotels, I can say that this hotel is way above even the Ritz!!! From the valets to Andy who checked us in- everyone was just amazing! I love a nice hotel, and this is a step above. Keannie' at the front was SO NICE and warm and welcoming. Lorenzo too- so sweet. The housekeepers were so friendly when we passed them in the hallways. The hotel itself is just perfect- so much attention to detail everywhere! Sophia's was awesome and was just down the stairs from our room. The rooms are so comfy and nice, and we had no issues with a single thing. We both like the room cold when we sleep, and sometimes hotel ac's don't cooperate- this one was great and it was nice and chilly for us, and in the morning, it immediately got warmer when we adjusted it- that's rare! The area is safe for two females walking around at night, and there's a lot to do nearby. I am frantically trying to figure out when I can come back, not to do anything in Charlotte, but just to enjoy another night of luxury at this amazing place. Thank you so so much!!…
Came 1st time for an over night stay on our way to DC. My husband and I were both impressed by the hotel, itself. The decor is outstanding! The rooms are absolutely amazing! But the service….. I don’t know where the staff came from, but I wish they would train EVERYONE to work the way they do! They are truly AMAZING! From the Valet guy, to Ms. Keannie at the front desk area! We came back for this 2nd. stay just to relax before heading to Ga. Keannie thank you for your extra efforts, you’re 1 of a kind!
Stayed in Charlotte on many occasions and decided to give the Ivey's a shot. Its an old dept store now converted into a boutique hotel. Great service from check in to check out. Very comfortable beds. Walking distance to restaurants, theater and the Spectrum Center. My new favorite in Charlotte.
Beautiful spacious room and loved the antique decor they put together. Super luxury right in the middle of downtown and Sophie’s lounge was connected to the hotel. Unfortunately couldn’t spend more time. Overall a great stay and good hospitality at the reception
We celebrated my mother’s birthday and had a wonderful stay. Lorenzo took very could care of us making sure my mother’s floral arrangements arrived in her room and well as checking us out! Lorenzo was very courteous and professional! All of the staff was amazing! The rooms were amazing! It will definitely be a hotel we will stay in again next time in Charlotte!!
I came to stay at the Ivey's hotel because it was was recommended to me from a friend of mine. I was greeted by the two nicest people. Ty and Lorenzo. They made sure everything was taken care of from start to finish. They made my stay a little extra special and I can't thank them enough. I can't wait to come and stay again!!
Cordial staff, beautifully appointed rooms and enjoyed appetizers and beverages in Sophie’s Lounge. TJ did a great job bartending and Keannie and Lorenzo were very friendly on arrival and departure! Room Service Breakfast Eggs Benedict were delicious !
My husband and I stayed at the Ivey’s for a date night and had a wonderful time. This was our second time staying here. Billy, with valet, was prompt, very helpful, and professional. We will definitely be back!
