Valet was amazing easy to get in and out and very polite. I’ll be back. The roof top party was cherry on top. Everything was so fun and I really enjoyed my stay. Also the rooms were very clean and the views were to die for.

Hotel's Favourite
Hotel- Kimpton Tryon Park (Charlotte, NC) Date- June 6 -8, 2021 (2 nights) Overall: 5/5. Excellent. Another wonderful Kimpton experience. We have been impressed repeatedly at this property. For our stays in Charlotte, this is our preferred property for leisure or business travel! Rewards Club Recognition- 5/5. Excellent. Upon arrival, we were thanked for our loyalty, and we were offered a welcome amenity of either 600 loyalty club points or a $10 Food & Beverage credit. Our room was upgraded, and an in-room amenity of a bottle of wine, some chocolate covered almonds, and a small locally branded bag of popcorn were present. A pet bed and food & water bowls were in the room for our pet, and the front desk staff made sure the coffee maker and extra pillows we requested were present, as was a coffee maker. The ‘social password’ was good for selection of an envelope, which contained a ‘wild card’ gift. Of the many options offered, we decided to go with an additional $10 credit for F&B. Staff- 5/5. Excellent. We were checked into the property by Charelle and Jamie. What a treat our interaction with them was! Thorough and efficient, they covered all the basics and made us happy we had finally finished the drive into town. We must have looked parched because Jamie quickly offered us bottled waters. When my spouse lamented that we had missed the wine/social hour, they even offered us ‘welcome glasses of wine.’ Above and beyond! These two are gems. Our second day, Derek, the guest services manager, was polite, engaging, and eager to ensure we had everything we might want. Such a great staff! Property Appearance & Maintenance- 4/5. Very good. We loved the modern and chic design of this property; the few maintenance items we found to address were in the room. Exterior- 5/5. The exterior of the property is clean and well maintained. The valet area is debris free and off the street in a covered area. Luggage carts were readily available. All exterior (and interior) lighting was functional. Interior- 4/5. The hallways and lobby make a great impression, right off the bat. No luggage marks on the carpet, few to no scuffs on the walls. The point-to-point elevator system is clever, and 3 of 4 elevators appeared to be in service. (I have only seen this elevator type in a few hotels to date; it is perfect for pandemic operations; rarely would the elevator stop to pick up others with the same destination floor. The only recommendation is to work with housekeeping to better address some of the minor, in-room defects. A closet door handle was loose; the shower water handle came off, the sink did not drain well, and a few carpet stains could be cleaned better. Accommodations- 5/5 Excellent. We were assigned a “Corner Spa 1King Bed” room. It overlooked the neighboring park and sports stadium, which made for a beautiful view. The room itself is set up as a junior suite, with a small desk/work area separated by a wall from the bed area. The bathroom was an appropriate size and included a bathtub with stylish tiling. There was plenty of counter space. A couple of the tiles around the shower drain were broken, but unless you are looking for imperfections (or stepped on it in the shower, like we did), you would barely notice. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were relatively flat. We were glad we had requested extras. Overall, we loved this room type and would choose it again. Housekeeping- 5/5. Excellent. The room was immaculate when we arrived. The only minor flaw we could find was a couple of small stain in front of the minifridge, at the end of the bed, and around the back work area (which honestly could only be seen in natural lighting); everything else was pristine. All toiletries, such as toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. were provided in a supply adequate for the length of our stay. The housekeepers were quiet, sure not to disturb guests in the morning, and at no time did any of them knock on the door while the Do Not Disturb sign was in place. Pool/Gym- not evaluated. Breakfast/Meal Options- 4/5. Very good. Angeline’s, the hotel restaurant, is open, and the food is quite tasty. We tried the pork chop and chicken madera dishes, along with a brussel spout appetizer. We devoured the food; it was so tasty. The minibars are emptied, but the usually contained items are available from a ‘bodega’ near the front desk. The Kimpton signature social hour is conducted only on select days (due to staffing shortages, we were told), near the front desk, in the lobby, and complementary morning coffee service is available at Angeline’s. It's time to update your website to reflect what is and isn't offered, as well as when it is or isn't. A rooftop bar, Merchant & Trade, is also available weekend evenings, but our visit didn’t coincide with those days of the week. Laundry- not evaluated. A laundry bag and pricing sheet were present in the closet, as was an iron and an ironing board. Laundry pricing was appropriate. Computer/Printer/WiFi- 5/5. Excellent. The WiFi was strong throughout the property and streaming of video and music was smooth and uninterrupted.

Gorgeous hotel in the middle of city center. Pet friendly and lots of restaurant options near by. The rooftop bar is a entire vibe! I didn't trust the parking garages nearby so opted for valet which I think was the best option. I'll definitely be back.

Aaron in valet gives customer service a new meaning. He helped me deal with a flat tire from 11 am-11 pm. He never gave up when all other tow truck companies did! He found someone himself and got me back up and running. For a mom of three kids traveling alone this was top notch service and kindness.

We had a lovely stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Eric. He helped get us get a different room without having to go all the way back down to the front desk and brought up our new keys to the other room. His smile and demeanor really helped kick start a great weekend in Charlotte. We will definitely stay again. Merry Christmas!

The hotel is beautiful! The location is perfect. The staff is wonderful! Upon checking in (no wait) , I was given a brief summary of the hotel amenities which I appreciated very much. I had received a courtesy text message letting me know my room was ready EARLY for check in. The elevators are super cool too, you pick your floor ( instead of up or down), when the doors open it takes you to your floor (no buttons on the inside). No waiting on the elevator either. Very classy! My room was very nice & I was welcomed with a little snack and a sweet note offering help with anything I might need to make my stay more comfortable. My view was incredible!! I was so excited! The minicar was stocked with premium liquors AND snacks (gourmet chips, candy & other special items you just have to check it out yourself!!! The bathroom looked newly remodeled, the shower was very roomy , great shower head & soft towels! I hurried to get ready to go to the roof top bar ( Merchant & Trade) WOW! It was breathtaking! Wonderful craft cocktails. It was a great start to a wonderful evening! After experiencing the sunset over the beautiful city of Charlotte & a few delicious adult beverages, I went downstairs to the restaurant in the Hotel (Angeline’s) where I had a great dinner. I took the recommendation of the waiter & I was very happy! I went the distance and had dessert with an Irish coffee too! I had to tap out on the dessert about 1/2 way through I was so stuffed ( took it back to my room) . I enjoyed a little television before sleeping like a rock. The bed had first class linens & pillows. The next morning I knew I needed to hit the gym. The exercise facility is well equipped and lots of ceiling to floor windows providing a great view while on the Elliptical or other machines. They had free weights & everything you need to work off those dessert calories! The morning coffee makes the lobby smell wonderful, I’m a tea drinker & I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of quality teas offered. They had hot chocolate too. It was a totally wonderful experience & I will definitely go back & take someone with me! So in summary, one I parked my car ( they offer valet), I never had to leave the hotel. I had one of the best times by myself I’ve ever had! The Kimpton checked every box ! LOVE IT!!!
