Stayed here (and still staying here) in Jan and Feb. Overall its a good place. My first room had alot to be desired, a dark 2 queen room on 20. however my last stay was in a much nicer room, seemingly redone after the other. So what room you get does make a difference! They give you two water bottles free in the room, but you need to as for more or bring your own water bottle to refill in the gym. And there isn't alot of clothes drawers there either!

No lounge here - its more a conf hotel then a typical Westin, so I have been choosing the breakfast cert over the points to stay here. you get the continental breakfast buffet int he restaurant, and can ad $5 to get the hot buffet instead. Service there is hit or miss though. For dinner i haven't eaten at the hotel, i have been going down the block to Whole Foods. They have a good spread and a beer bar as well.

The gym here is really good. maybe the best part. lots of cardio and free weights.

I would and will be choosing this again, but depending on where you are working in Charlotte its could be a longer walk than you want.

When I first arrived I pulled into the parking garage and got a parking ticket. I arrived at 12pm and was worried because check-in was not until 3pm. The woman who assisted me was very kind and accommodating. She took the parking ticket and let me know that I could use my key to get in and out of the garage. She allowed me to check in early and that was a blessing. I walked into my room and was very pleased with how spacious it was. The glass standing shower was a plus. I loved the big windows to view the city and had an amazing morning view of the sun (check out the picture). The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. That says a lot about the owner and those that work there:) . Check out was fast and easy and it was at 12. Having check out at 12 instead of 10am or 11am gave me more time to enjoy the comforts of my room. I didn’t do room service but I called down to the front desk for more cream and I was pleased at how fast it came. Oh and the coffee in your room is Starbucks with real liquid creamer, not the powdered packets you typically find.

Great hotel. Convenient location. We were in Charlotte for the Ga-Clemson football game. Stadium was within walking distance, as were many restaurants. We parked our car on Friday and never used it until we checked out on Sunday. Parking was $25 a day, but the location is so good, it's worth it. Room was clean. Great towels, comfortable bed and comfy robe! Only negatives were that it seemed that the hotel was not prepared to handle the large number of fans who were there. Huge hotel, but completely booked. Consequently, there were often long lines for the elevators. The front desk finally instructed someone to usher people to the service elevators. After the game on Sat. night, the bar area just off the lobby was packed with hungry people...but they ran out of food. Yes, it was getting late, but hundreds of people were still mingling and buying drinks...but they basically turned on the bright lights and "shut it down". Lost a lot of money that night! We did order pizza from the bar area earlier in the day, and it was delicious! Would have paid 2x the price to have gotten one after the game! Overall, nice hotel...and would stay here again.

Westin? I thought I was staying at a Holiday Inn. I have to say that I’m extremely disappointed in the service of this location. Over decades of traveling all over the globe, I genuinely did not feel that the staff at this location represents the quality of the Westin brand or Marriott properties in general.

It started with a check-in process. As a Gold Elite member I naturally proceeded to the Bonvoy elite check-in line. The 3 people working the front desk, refused to not only acknowledge me standing there but not even make eye contact. My wife decided to stand in the regular line and sure enough she was invited to the counter first. Upon looking up my reservation not once was I even recognized as a loyal elite member, no mention of welcome points, room upgrade, Internet, late checkout availability, restraint hours, nothing. The attitude was almost lien they were making me a favor for allowing me to stay there?! Really?

It didn’t get much better after that, the seating area around the pool was poorly designed with not enough chairs / tables available for the guests.

When looking for a place to get dinner, I called down to the front desk to ask about availability and to be transferred to JP Charlotte (restaurant at the hotel). I was told by the staff that the restaurant does not have a phone but that reservation isn’t needed for the guests and we should just proceed downstairs and we’ll get a table. To our surprise (or lack thereof) the restaurant wasn’t even open for dinner!!

At night my entire family was awake from 1am to 3am as other guests on my floor though it was best time and place to socialize and argue in the hallways. I finally called the front desk out of frustration at 2:50am and only then did the noise finally subside.

In the morning, we decided to get the breakfast before departing. We ended up standing confused by the host stand as no one was there to greet us nor was there a sign that guest can help themselves to a table. Nothing? We were finally waved in after about 10 minutes by one of two servers working in the restaurant. This was the only highlight of the stay as the server (Her name was Tan I believe) was one of the nicest people we’ve me and did an amazing job handling enormous amount of tables.

Needless to say I did not received my account statement under the door in the morning (as expected in the property of this caliber). I’ve checked out in the app but again wasn’t able to access the charges on my folio. The app suggested to stop by the front desk to get a copy. Fruitlessly, I once again stood in the (now useless) Bonvoy elite line and being late for an appointment left after 15 minutes of frustration. Let hope my charges are correct.

There's a $2 charge if you call the front desk when you're staying there. Can you believe that? They also don't disclose it ANYWHERE. Wild.

I was also woken up in the morning by the hotel staff knocking several times. When I finally got to the door they looked surprised saying they were just checking how many vacant rooms they have. It’s not even close to check out time.

The facility is exactly what it needs to be. The rooms are quiet and there isn’t any spill over noise from the hall or other rooms. But the real star of the Westin is the staff. They are clearly on a collective mission to make your stay pleasant, and during my stay I noticed how they went out of their way several times with that in mind. That includes everyone from the front desk stuff to Rod at the front door.

Booked to stay 2 nights over a weekend to explore the city.
One arrival the hotel lobby was full of school children, crowding the elevator lobby and ignoring the person capacity restrictions in place for covid.

We were put in an accessible room on the 10th floor overlooking the main road. The room was presentable, nothing special and way below the standard I expected for $180 a night. The worst element of the room was the condition of the pillows on the bed. They had no volume, and when I looked closely they were covered in brown sweat stains and had obviously never been laundered. I requested replacements which never arrived.

We were concerned by the number of unsupervised children at the hotel, running along corridors, not following covid rules and knocking on doors throughout the night. We had to call security to speak to them as they kept banging on our room door into the early hours of the morning.

My final comment relates to the car park and lack of valet parking. I had an early flight and had to collect the car from the hotel car park at 5.30am. The car park was underground with poor lighting and no security. As a female traveller I felt very unsafe having to collect my car at such a quiet time of day.

I won’t be back and would not recommend.

Being in Charlotte for a conference, I experienced the wonderful quality of hospitality the Westin Charlotte provides to guests. The lobby is very inviting and the service is authentic from the front desk to banquets. The Hotel restaurant has a delicious menu and the Caesar Salad with Salmon was simply delectable and the soup of the day! I enjoyed being able to walk to the convention center and just experience Charlotte from a tourist’s perspective. I’ll be back and I will stay at the Westin Charlotte!

The hotel changed the reservation of multiple people in our group (all of whom made reservations three months or more in advance) within 48 hours of check-in. They were moved to another hotel away from the rest of our group. The hotel called it a "walkover" and said they had a contract with the Marriott City Center to send all overbooked people to the Marriott. They would not change the reservations back to the Westin even when members of our group called to explain to the manager. When I asked to be moved to the Marriott City Center also, they refused, saying the Marriott was full. They could not give a good reason for dramatically overbooking the hotel. They did not seem at all concerned about the inconvenience. I will never return.

Stayed here for a few nights at the beginning of October. For most of the stay we had a special conference rate, but the first night we didn't get that and it was $375/night. This hotel is not worth anywhere near that. The rooms themselves were ok, but nothing worth writing home about. One of the beds had some bloodstains on it in the corner, not a huge deal but doesn't fly at $375/night. The pot light was falling out of the bathroom ceiling and despite it being in many of the photos, the pool is apparently closed and has been for some time. The Gym was very nice for a hotel gym, arguably the best I've ever used in a hotel but compared to the other area hotels, I'm not sure why you'd stay here. If you are traveling for work, it is OK but this area of the city isn't particularly family-friendly and neither is the hotel.
