I was on the third floor as it was very quiet, though the hotel was not very busy I think there were limited travelers staying there. The bed was soft and comfortable, there was a in room safe and mini-fridge. The shower didn't get onto the floor for me, it has a rainhead shower that pointed straight down. I liked that you could self park for $20 a night and there was plenty of parking available. Breakfast was really good. The hotel is actually attached to a Sheraton so it is a large conference center hotel. I didn't see any bugs and the carpet seemed very clean. THe a/c did struggle a little the first night, but over all really great stay.

The lobby and common areas were nice but the rooms are a little run down. The only thing my family enjoyed was the staff in the lounge of Le Meridien where they offered snacks and drinks. Jen and Kia were awesome and provided the best customer service. They also helped me find things to do with my small daughter. Brianna at the front desk was also a delight and made us feel at home. These three ladies were the best. I would recommend putting money into the rooms especially the bathrooms and offering discounts to local places for families with children.

I submitted an earlier review praising Dixy and other members of the staff - and that opinion remains - however reviews cannot be edited, so I am now writing an updated one.

As the title says, I wanted to like the hotel more than I did. I found the staff for the most part to be very welcoming, helpful and friendly. But there were just a few too many things which I need to mention.

First of all, housekeeping. My room wasn’t cleaned after my first night. I mentioned this to the front desk later that afternoon, and when I returned in the evening, there was a bag of clean towels and a roll of toilet paper left in the room – but used towels not collected, garbage not emptied, bed not made. The second day, there was a very superficial “cleaning” – bed made, but garbage still not collected and used towels taken, but not replaced – perhaps they assumed that I was supposed to replenish myself from the untouched bad of towels left the previous day?

Secondly, just feedback/commentary about the hotel itself. There is a very nice rooftop with loads of comfy seating. However, it is only open when the bar is open – from 5pm until 11pm. I can understand the outdoor pool being closed for the winter, but the entire outside ground floor deck is closed off as well. This means that despite lovely weather, there are no options to sit outside. Especially for the rooftop space, this is such a wasted opportunity and disappointing/frustrating. I was there for a conference, and many of us would have love to be able to get some fresh air and relax outdoors before/between/after sessions.

Other than that, I would recommend the hotel overall. The “happy hour” sparkling wine, the 24 hour snack “shop”, the spacious conference facilities, and of course, the wonderful staff make this hotel worth considering.

My stay at the Le Meridien was extremely disappointing. To say this property is deteriorating and the management is on the decline is an understatement. Nazar at the front desk is absolutely awful and should not be working in the hospitality industry. I’m a Titanium/Lifetime Platinum member and he treated me like I was beneath him. Nazar made excuses for everything as well as insulted me by insisting that something I brought to his attention was not true. I reported his behavior and unprofessionalism to management. I reported several issues during my stay and ultimately checked out early due to the lack of concern and attention from the hotel staff and management. The last straw was the excessive ant problem that I reported which was still not addressed appropriately by the hotel staff after an entire week of promises that it would be addressed by Orkin. I have stayed at this property multiple times over the last few years for extended periods of time (3-4 week stays) and this stay was unacceptable. Last year there was a problem with heat, which maintenance fixed after a day. I was pleased by the prompt handling so I returned for another extended stay. This year I had a problem with 60 lady bugs in my first room, so I was moved to another room which I appreciated. In the next room, after several days I didn’t have heat for 3 days and it was so uncomfortable that I could barely stay in there. I was given extra blankets and told it would be addressed by morning. That didn’t happen. After several complaints, management give me food vouchers for the inconvenience. The room also had ants, which I tried to ignore until I realized they were everywhere! My room had a large refrigerator/freezer and upon opening the freezer, I saw what I thought was spilled coffee grinds only to look closer and see that it was approximately 100 DEAD frozen ants. Unacceptable! I reported the issue and housekeeping was sent to clean the freezer as well as vacuum. A few days later, the ants were all over the food that I placed on the table. I was livid. I reported the issue concerning the ants again several more times and was promised that it would be addressed by having the room treated by Orkin. A week went by and that never happened. When I inquired about why, I was told that it was because there was a do not disturb sign on the door. Unacceptable. Typically the front desk would call if something needed to be dropped off and the sign was on the door. Furthermore, housekeeping and maintenance came to the room and knocked during my stay a couple times despite the sign being on the door.

Unfortunately, the issues I experienced had nothing to do with COVID-19 or the hotel being understaffed. I would not choose to stay here again and would not recommend that anyone else stay here. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I live nearby, but wanted to have a mini-vacation, so my friend and I rented a room here. Our original reservation was for 1 king bed, but while checking in the concierge heard us talking about sharing a bed and offered us a room with two beds instead at no upcharge, and we happily accepted. We got to our room and opened the curtains to see our view and were met with a wall and a scaffold full of what appeared to be painting supplies. I immediately called and asked for a different room, and was told that it was not possible. I was told that they were booked for the night, and I explained that I was JUST checked in and that we were originally supposed to have a king bed, so there must be available rooms, and then I was told that I booked through a third party, so they could not guarantee the same rate. I kept trying to get a new room, even a parking lot view would have been better, but they refused. We left for a show, and when we got back, there was a cheese tray and bottle of wine from the hotel manager. It was good try, but didn't make up for the fact that they could have just moved us to another room. Otherwise, the stay was fine.

We always love to welcome local Carolinians through our doors whether for business or for a much needed staycation in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, and we thank you for sharing your experience in this review. Even though your overall visit may have been enjoyed, we wish to offer our sincerest apologies for the trouble that you encountered right upon arrival. We never want our guests to feel anything less than right at home and we can certainly see that what seemed like an upgrade to you missed the mark due to the surroundings outside of your guest room. Although you were provided with this room with the best intentions in mind, we empathize that upon request for a change back to your original reservation, our team did not offer the highest level of customer service. We appreciate your candor regarding your frustration and your acceptance of our small recompense. We know that it would not “make up” for the inconvenience and we encourage you to reach out to us directly at the hotel should you wish to discuss this experience in greater detail. We would welcome the chance to restore your trust so we may one day have a chance to welcome you back through our doors for a much more authentic Le Méridien experience.

I originally booked the Sheraton, but the Sheraton is actually closed despite taking reservations. Instead, my reservation was transferred to the Le Meridien, which is connected to the Sheraton.

The Le Meridien was renovated a few years ago, but the whole lobby is unusual because it is shared with the Sheraton. This is confusing not least because the. Sheraton and Le Meridien brands are completely different.

The pool is open, but the gym is closed. Housekeeping is not being provided on a daily basis.

Also, the Le Meriden is not providing the required Marriott Bonvoy elite status benefits, including breakfast despite the fact that the restaurants are open.

All things considered, I cannot recommend this property because management are cheating Marriott Bonvoy elite status guests.

I needed a hotel room on my way back to Florida from Ohio and Charlotte was a good stopping point so I decided to book the Le Meridian in Downtown Charlotte. I asked for an upgrade and was told that they were having 3 weddings and fully booked and unavailable to upgrade me. I asked again later and they got back and said they could upgrade me so I was happy until I got to the property. I checked in and the front desk agent was rather unpleasant and seemed like he wasn’t interested in really being at work also he did not have a mask on or appear to want to wear one anyway despite Marriott’s policy that requires all guests and employees to do so. I got my room keys to find out I’m on floor 4 of 18. As a titanium member I’m usually on a high floor but got stuck on 4. I felt like if I asked for a higher room floor it would be more trouble than it’s worth since the front desk agent wasn’t very interested in helping from the start so I just kept the room I was in regretting it later on. The lobby is shared with the Sheraton and I was given Sheraton room keys oddly.

From around 9PM to 1AM there was constant noise coming from the room above me which after driving 7 hours was not something I wanted to really deal with but eventually it stopped and I went to sleep. The room I was in looked tired and in need of renovations. The shower was moldy and sink backed up with water all the time.

Overall I would recommend booking elsewhere, this hotel isn’t ready to be part of the Marriott portfolio in it’s current state. They need new staff or training and renovations to be up to par with standards. As a titanium member I would have liked to have seen better customer service and experience.

We came for a quick visit with our child who is a student at UNCC. We've stayed at Le Meridian's in other towns before and had many great experiences with the chain. Our room was clean and very beautiful, but the view was something else. What looked like bird poop, we suspected may have been paint. It was splattered over the majority of the windows (See pictures). My family and I were watching the game in the room when the room door opened and a woman in a green shirt (all I could remember), walked into the room, picked up a piece of equipment, and walked out. I turned to look at my family and they all were in shock. She "knocked" and opened the door...all at the same time. I was very upset and went to the front desk to speak to a manager. The manager (Chris) offered us drinks (21 yo and above), but that didn't interest me. He offered to change our room and I took that offer. He stated he would consult with security and housekeeping on what might have happened. After changing rooms, the new room was nice and clean, but we found visitors...Ladybugs. One was on the pillow (See pictures) and the others were on the floor. We were able to capture the ones we saw and escort them out of the room humanely. I didn't even bother to complain...just too tired.
Several suggestions: The room with the paint view needs to be cleaned and until then the room needs to be off the books for bookings. Housekeeping should ALWAYS knock and wait for a response before entering a room. That was scary and a privacy violation. When cleaning the rooms check for critters. Vacuuming also helps as we found a chicken nugget under one of the beds. When a customer is inconvenienced and nearly scared to death, a better incentive (drinks are not it) and room upgrades are more attractive for future stays. Positive: Both the Sheraton and Le Meridian lobbies were absolutely beautiful and attractive AND the front desk representatives showed amazing customer service and grace. Chris was nice as well.

Upon arrival to your hotel, the lobby is beautiful but that is where the beauty, charm and class stops.

I was a late check in for 2 rooms. I asked for an upgrade, one wasn't available nor was the welcoming attitude of guest services. The room keys were given with little explanation of where to park and i was shewed on my way. After parking and finding the elevators, we went to our Motel 6 type of rooms. The room was dark, brown wallpaper somewhat adhered to the walls and frayed carpet. ( I have the pictures to prove) with one flickering lamp. The bathroom was one of the smallest bathrooms I have ever seen in a hotel. As it was late, and we weren't traveling alone, we had no choice but to turn in for the night. As my husband showered I called and expressed my concerns to the front desk and asked that she cancel my rooms for the next night as I have found other lodging. The associate was understanding by stating there were no other rooms and she would inform the manager in the morning. While speaking with her my husband yelled for a towel. The shower wall was so small that as he showered the floor was getting wet. Once I went in the bathroom, I noticed the dirt in the corners of the shower, water, broken tiles, and putty filled cracks in the floor. This place was surely not what it was described as.
There was an adjoining room to ours, not occupied by my company, that was only seperated by a latch. No deadbolt lock. Every noise was heard down the hall by every visitor. The next morning, my guests infomed me that they had the same problems and the headboard was peeling.
The bed was the only positive. It slept well and very comfortable.

Early the next morning I spoke with the manager, who listened, apologized but no signs of empathy. This was more of a "I'm doing my job so I will offer you points" type of attitude. I didn't accept this but informed that I will be contacting the general manager and corporate.

I will not stay at this hotel again...nor reccomend this to anyone!

We were so excited to stay at this hotel and we’re extremely disappointed. Going down the hallway to our room hallway was covered in heart sequins and flower petals. Upon entering our room the heart sequins were in the bathroom and all over our carpet. The room was not clean. There were greasy handprints on the door knobs to the TV cabinet, there was some sort of splatter all over the end stand lamp, the baseboard was completely torn up and again the carpet did not look swept. Also there was a very large standing lamp in the corner of the room which was not plugged in. The closest outlet to it was a floor outlet which was cracked, had paint splatter on it and looked like it had burnt up some. In the bathroom they were hairs in the toilet water, on the toilet seat and dirt all over the sink. The hotel seems beautiful, but after closer inspection it is run down and dirty. Completely unacceptable! The only positive thing that I can say about the hotel is that they did refund our money and we moved on to a different hotel!

Yes, pets are allowed, but contact the hotel in advance to discuss size, weight, and special needs - like asking for a room away from the elevator in case your pet is jumpy like mine.

Le Meridien does not have club lounge. SPG Platinums staying there are given access to the Sheraton's club lounge. I am a Lifetime Platinum and was not especially impressed with this hotel. It was like pulling teeth to get a mediocre upgrade on a weekend when the hotel was not especially full.
