Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown garners appreciation for its cleanliness and the warm, welcoming atmosphere noted by guests. The hotel's prime location is a highlight, with its easy access to downtown Charlotte's dining and shopping venues. While the spaciousness of the rooms is a plus, some guests feel the decor could use a refresh and mention maintenance concerns. Although the hotel staff receives accolades for their friendliness and attentiveness, the value proposition is affected by high parking fees and some inefficiencies in valet and elevator services.

We decided to stay here for the weekend just to get away and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was nice and clean and the staff was curtious and personable, with the exception of one housekeeper. I visited the mini bar multiple times and the drinks were well made. The mini bar also serve snacks and small meals but we decided to pass on them. While we also didn't try the restaurant we did go up to see the pool and take a few photos. It is far too cold for outdoor swimming at the moment but the pool is very small and is only 3ft deep. I wouldn't plan to swim there if we decided to visit in the summer.

We rented the One Bedroom King Suite which was roughly 725sq ft and we loved It! It was spacious, quiet and cozy. There were 3 televisions through out the room and it also included a pull out sleeper. The rate we paid also came with breakfast and it did not disappoint. They served eggs, bacon or sausage, potato medley, grits, waffles or pancakes, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, and bread. As well as coffee, water, juice, milk and tea bags. The lobby/eating area is very comfortable. We actually spent a good bit of time lounging in this area.

Lastly, PARKING! This hotel ONLY offers valet parking which runs about $28/night, if I'm not mistaking, but there are lots of preferred parking lots that surround the hotel. We parked directly in front of the hotel in a small lot (in front of valet) and we spent $7 and change/12hrs. Total, we paid around $30 for both nights. To each his own but just know that there are other options available. But I will say, the valet staff was very polite and I would have felt comfortable allowing them to park my vehicle if it had been our preference.

I highly recommend The Hyatt Place.

We used Hyatt Place Downtown Charlotte as the hotel for our wedding guests to stay for our recent 3/7/21 wedding. Rosemary helped us plan this out from start to finish. She contacted me shortly before our wedding weekend letting me know all of our guests would be getting a lower rate than originally promised (BONUS!). Her staff handed out hotel welcome bags to all of our wedding guests upon checkin.

We had a meeting room off of the lobby which we used as an after party gathering area. We also had a suite which was used for all of our bridesmaids to get ready in on the day of the wedding. Even the valet staff was outstanding and asked me to see pictures from the wedding the next day.

I never thought I'd be so pleased with a hotel experience, but I cannot imagine having our guests stay anywhere else! Most of our guests had never been to Charlotte, so this hotel was the perfect central location and they really enjoyed the view and menu up at Fahrenheit (on the roof of the hotel). We would highly recommend any engaged couples or those hosting an event use the Hyatt Place Downtown Charlotte!

Joe and Emanuel were great and I was very satisfied overall. As soon as we pulled in Joe was respectful about insuring our vehicle was properly parked and Emanuel guaranteed quick and easy access to our luggage as soon as we were out. Would go 10/10 if possible.

As a healthcare provider, on a “stay conference” due to my in-person Myrtle Beach in-person conference going virtual, I was very pleased.

Hyatt Place did a phenomenal job from check-in, housekeeping, and the evening staff was so very helpful in recommending after hours restaurants. The staff went out of her way to go outside to provide walking directions (she was pregnant). I felt really cared for despite not being oceanside.

Fahrenheit’s environment was properly social distanced with the most amazing outside enchanting skyline view. As a vaccinated HCP, I felt proper measures were put in place to ensure my safety, as well as others.

This location was down in the middle of uptown Charlotte and was close to alot of places to eat, drink and catch an NBA game. It was also close to the business buildings I needed to get to in walking distances. The day and night staff were both accommodating and always willing to assist any questions or desires that came up.

I tried 2 of Hyatt's Charlotte hotels over the last several months with the hope that one might be better than the other but alas no. This time I stayed at the 222 S. Caldwell hotel. The pros: large rooms. The cons: $28 for parking, soulesss rooms that one was happy to leave, a sink that spilled water everywhere as the faucet was (a) either far too short or ( b) the hole in the sink was in the wrong place. The breakfast was a disaster, options being a cold hard boiled egg, 2 chocolate muffins or some egg sausage thing you could microwave. Oranje juice? Not a trace. Milk? 2 small pint sized cartons. Toast? Nope. Anything else? Nope as well. Let's move on to Coved security: tables cleaned? Nope, you could still see the crumbs of previous occupants and the coffee rings on the tables. Masks? Appeared to be optional for people who got onto our elevator as well as the valet parkers. And all this for $180 per night as extra upon extra is added to the "price' one sees on the website. Frankly worse than my previous Hyatt Charleston experience. So avoid the Hyatts'' and go anywhere but there which will be my next action.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds; a little street noise impacted sleep and hallway noise, but nothing out of the ordinary. Excellent breakfast and coffee. Above average hotel staff with good customer service. Parking fee was not apparent until arrival and lack of suggestions for alternatives to valet parking expense.

We arrived after a late flight to another Hyatt in the area to find out our room was no longer available. The hotel was kind and moved us to the downtown location while covering our room and dinner for the night. At this point Hyatt Place Downtown also went above and beyond by comping our parking and extending our room additional night rather than having to move locations to the Hyatt House Downtown. We cannot say enough good things about the staff, quality of the food, cleanliness of the room, and their desire to go above and beyond to make sure our stay was exceptional.

The hotel is located very close to downtown, or even we can say it is in downtown. The surrounding area it is okay, as you enter to the building you need to go up to the 10th floor to check in . It is probably pretty annoying for the lady setting at the ground floor building reception that she needs to tell this to every new guests, arriving to the hotel.

So you go up to the 10th floor, there you can find the reception with helpful staff. The registration process is short. Then you go to your room, if you are lucky you get a room which faces towards downtown. The view is stunning.

The room equipped pretty well: hairdryer, lots of towels, ironing machine, sofa, bed, bathtub. All in all really good.

The restaurant is on the 10th floor, at this point I would say that the downtown view makes the breakfast feeling even better. There are fruits, cereals, bacon so everyone can find what he/she likes.

There is a small fitness center, that all guests can use.

All in all I would say this hotel is a good choice.

Overall, a pleasant stay. Checking in/Valet was a bit of a hassle as has been mentioned. Elevators can take some time, particularly around dinner time and later in the evening.

We did have 2 encounters with one member of staff that was not very friendly. Beyond that, everyone else was super friendly. On our 2nd day, we left about 7am and returned around 12pm to find that our room had not been serviced. I requested service as we left; we needed towels. We received clean towels but the room was visibly not as clean as after the 1st day. Not enough to complain, just a noticeable difference. We noticed trash in the hall way had also been left for at least 24 hours.

Rooms do have a small fridge (no upper freezer portion). We felt that the fridge was not very cool and thought maybe it was turned down and just needed some time. On our last morning, we realized that the fridge had begun defrosting while on high cool. We had yogurt/protein shakes so this was a problem. There is a single cup coffee maker in the room.

Breakfast is okay. As we were there for 3 mornings, we noticed it did rotate. For those used to bagels, waffles, you are out of luck. There are a few bread options, yogurt and fresh fruit, scrambled eggs. Grits/Oatmeal & pancakes/waffles were rotated. I only mention as we were needing to "carb up" and were let down a little.

On the last day(as another staff member stated I need to request late checkout at that time), I requested a 1pm checkout. I explained that this was likely unnecessary but the event we were in town for would be done around 12pm. This was my 2nd encounter with the unfriendly host that stated they had been overwhelmed by the late checkout requests and I needed to hurry up and "get out".

Overall, it was a fine stay. It was an easy walk to nearby restaurants.

I’m not sure about adjoining rooms, but we thought the room was larger than those in most recently built hotels. I think it would be plenty large for your contingent.
