My visit was 15-18 November 2022 on business. Arrived before the cold rain came in, so I decided to eat from restaurant bar on site. I had checked the reviews and location of the hotel prior to my arrival. It is nicely located to many sites, activities, and restaurants. However, the weather was cold. So, when back in this area, I will probably try the hotel again. The hotel is located across the street from the courthouse. Although the cost was steep for parking, the security was worth it. The garage is covered and the parking slots are wide, which I appreciated. What I did manage to see of lounge and pool seating area was nice. The entrance way & elevators seemed a little worn but the rest of the hotel made up for it. Room was cleaned but not to my standards, so I did do some cleaning, but when you housekeeping staff is chatting on the phone and trying to clean at the same time, then you understand the standard. That is what I witnessed the day I checked into my room. This also was the first time to see you needed a credit card to use the safe. Imagine that. No suite rack in room either. The first day for breakfast, opened late but the food was decent for me. Not a big eater. Didn’t appreciate the woman who came down with her dog, don’t like my food around animals and the man who came down in his PJs, which was ignorant. I really don’t understand selfish people. The dinner area was very nice but on the first day, the tables were not wiped down from night before. The rest of the week went better. Gym area small like most but spacey. I always check beds by pulling up sheet corners on the beds, no critters, but would suggest hotel do like others and place plastic covers on mattresses to protect them from guess who spill things on them or to prevent any future bug problems that could get undetected from chatting housekeeping staff. They would have noticed that they did not place the cups in the room that are used for hot drinks instead of those thin water cups. I had to get my cups from downstairs. At least the heating vents were clean. Overall, some others on my business trip stayed in hotels that made me happy for the choice I made. The food in their QTavern was average for a cold rainy day. The conversations I had with other guest while waiting for food was pleasant. If back in the area, I may give the hotel another try. Its location to everything makes it good and when you see the pilots using it, then you know it’s a good fit.…
amazing stay! clean facilities, great location, good breakfast but the most important part of this hotel is their staff. the front desk people were so kind and nice! especially the night shift. we did a late check-in as we were driving from NY and got to the hotel by 11:30 pm and the front desk rep helped us big time! it was nice to be greeted with such energy and kindness, especially when you are tired after a long trip. if I ever travel back to NC will definitely go back to this hotel.
Well let me say, this hotel is like a motel now. 1. When I checked in, one rep helped me and the other rep was on her cell phone shopping. I had to ask about my upgrade as a rewards member. The acted like I was bothering them when I checked in. 2. Elevators smelled horrible!!! Sticky floors. 3. Rooms ungodly!!! See pictures!!! My wife put a towel down to place her luggage on. That’s a sign how bad it was. The restaurant on-site was the same and I gave them a separate review.
Visiting friends in Charlotte for one night only at Thanksgiving. This hotel is sort of plopped in the middle of a block and you might not even realize it's there. There are views of the freeway and the edge of the Elizabeth neighborhood from one side. The other side faces uptown, but is in the middle of government buildings, so not great views. Very convenient and easy to access from 277, close to shopping, hospitals and the government center. This hotel is close to many restaurants and neighborhoods. My room is comfortable, very clean and quiet (except for some late night hot rodding). It looks like it has been recently remodeled and updated. The lobby is pretty and there are several areas where you could sit and have private conversations. There is a restaurant and bar and a delicious self-serve breakfast with actual real food and great coffee! The parking deck is easy in and out. My visiting friends who stopped by for coffee were able to get their parking validated. Parking is kind of expensive at $25. The parking deck is very bright and well lit if you're coming in at night. I'm traveling solo and feel safe.…
We could not be more pleased with our stay here. Clean, centrally located and the front desk staff were amazing. Especially Ray Haddad ! Good selection for breakfast too. We have been to Charlotte many times, but have always tried different hotels since we had never found one to our liking. Some were dirty, didn’t seem safe or had odd parking options. We have found our hotel for all future Charlotte trips.
I would love to say a HUGE thanks to the lovely Charlotte who served breakfast during our stay. Her hospitality was next to none. The place itself had a pool that was heated and comfy bedding and the service was the best we’ve had so far.
Very clean and beautiful hotel. I was looking for something within walking distance to the spectrum center and that wouldn't break the bank. This place was perfect. They had a free breakfast, a great outdoor pool, a restaurant/bar on site and they accommodated my every special request... which was to be put on a high floor with a balcony and city view.. they also gave me an early checkin and a late checkout. Employees were nice and helpful. The walk to the Spectrum center was about 10 to 15 minutes.. so not bad at all. I don't really have much bad to say about this place. The beds were comfy and the place was clean and updated. If I had to say anything negative at all it would just be the price to park. I feel like parking should be included in the price of the hotel room, not an add on. Especially for people with handicap stickers...it should most def be free to park. Alot of hotels and resorts I've stayed at accommodate free parking and even valet services for people with handicap placards. Other then that I very much enjoyed my stay and will return! One more thing foe those looking for the best price. Agoda offered a fantastic deal compared to all the other hotel sites. It was almost $80 cheaper to book with agoda. So I highly recommend checking them first! …
From check in to check out, superb customer service. Very polite, friendly, and responsive. Breakfast hot and plentiful. Fitness center equipment adequate and clean. Outdoor Pool area relaxing and spacious. Housekeeping came to room twice, quickly fixed both issues. Room clean, comfy bed, shower spray strong and water hot. Great working areas in common, lobby area, no issues with WiFi, plenty of outlets. Overall, this stay exceeded expectations by far - definitely will stay here on our next trip. Kudos to all the staff and management for a job well done!
I stopped by on Friday, 11-19-21 to visit some family who were in town. I hadn't been to this location since 2015 when this hotel was used as the main hotel for my wedding guests. The lobby was clean. I saw employees wearing masks. There were signs reminding people that masks were required in certain common areas. I did see people mask less, including someone getting off an elevator. The elevator & hallway leading to the room were both clean. I've always liked the interior colors of the rooms. Not being here since 2015, the staff is doing a good job with the upkeep.
I recently stayed at this property for 3 nights. Everything was very beautiful. I really enjoyed the restaurant and bar that is on property as well. With that being said, Jim G. was phenomenal! I would have never guessed that Jim was a new employee; he was very knowledgeable about his job, prompt, personable, and gave great recommendations. I have worked for Marriott for a few years and if I was the General Manager, and if we had a bar, I would have definitely tried to get him to work for my property. The manager over the restaurant and bar, it was also a pleasure speaking with her. I can't remember her name unfortunately but she has red hair and she is very nice. The check-in process was smooth with Melissa and she was really kind. The only input I have that I think needs to be worked on is greeting the guests each time they walk in the door and using L.E.A.R.N.…
