We have stayed at the Rolling Hills Lodge on two separate occasions, and I can honestly say they were absolute pleasures. They have renovated the entire property, so the rooms are nicely equipped with modern amenities, but they still managed to keep the wonderful nostalgia...More

Although not on the river, it is very relaxing and you have a view of the mountains. Also, Elk wander through the parking lot and you may see them if you are enjoying the rocking chairs right outside of your room.

Shuttle is operated by the city - goes via shopping centers, apartments etc. - took a while to get to casino - costs a dollar (get what you pay for!), plus it stops running @ 11PM.Cab service slow and expensive. Sorry to say that we would not bother going back to Cherokee - Casino is tired, no atmosphere, no comp. drinks, expensive and service is crappy, plus rest of eateries in town close at around 8PM - Other than food court (expensive and staff rude) other restaurants at Casio closed by 11PM. No chain eateries (Applebee's, Chili's, Denny's or the like) in town, just fast food. Local motels (Rolling Hills was great) and people great, but casino a big disappointment.
