Never ever again. Worst camp site I have ever stayed at and I have done a lot of tent camping all over the country. First of all the manager was extremely rude.. I was tempted to leave without paying due to her insults. Right after I paid her for the site she started insulting me and talking to us like...

Mile High is very remote. All of the campsites are high out on a ridge, so the views are amazing straight from your sleeping bag at night. The stars are beyond compare as well. The people who operate the campground are very nice and helpful, bringing us firewood for $5 a load. They have a site map on the website...

We went October 12 and it was very cold at night. The T1-4 campsites are tiny, not really enough room for even 2 tents. But I think they have the best views. The T2-4 do not let you park your car at the site and the bathrooms are a good 5 min walk. The bathhouse is not heated and no...

Took my family of 4 (two under age seven and two adults) for two nights(Mon and tues) this week. We were one of the only spots taken and it was very quiet and peaceful. Great views. We stayed in #23 which was great for small kids as right near toilets and sinks. Very private sites in general. Our opinion was...

Just got back from a wonderful 4 night stay. Plenty of beautiful Smokies views (location), good price, nice hosts, clean shower house and REAL flush toilets!! Simple necessities. Not the Taj Mahal, but meets this campers simple expectations for location, price, and friendliness.

This place is truly a gem. I loved everything about it. My boyfriend and I are not new to camping, but we've never stayed anywhere quite like this. The stars at night, if you can find a clearing with no trees overhead are fan-freaking-tastic. We stared and stared at them for hours. Never having been anywhere with zero light pollution,...

We wanted to stay at mile high because it was on top of a mountain and on the way to asheville.. We're not huge campers but have enjoyed the less primitive camps and hikes. The views from this campsite were beyond belief in the morning.. we arrived at dusk and a cloud came in so fog and darkness was everywhere......

The caretakers are wonderfully nice. The campsites are large and clean. Huge elk wander all through the campground. Most sites either have a beautiful sunrise or sunset view. Campground is on a ridge.

The campground was nice with good views. We went in August and our campsite in the primitive area was like a wind tunnel. It was hard to even start our fire with the wind. Bring lots of layers. View from site was amazing though. I think they need to spend some money and update or build a new bathroom/shower house....

Been there three times this summer. June/July and last weekend (August). Great experience, been lucky on the rain and have seen ELK everytime! They even will bring the firewood you purchase to your site....which is convenient at the least! Attented 2 of the Thursday night potluck's with my 2 boys and they couldn't have been more nice! My dog was...
