This is by far the best campground we've ever stayed at. I reviewed this campground a few years ago after our first stay and knocked them for the bathrooms and cabins. I will still say that the cabins need to be torn down (they are in HORRIBLE condition and full of mice) but the bathrooms have undergone a renovation. There...

The views are great! For the 15 hours we could bear the cabin, I even saw elk!! On arrival, not too bad, we sprayed the cabin down with some bug spray and noticed some mice droppings here and there, but figured we where here to ruff it. Well... night falls and asleep on plywood we go (no cushions here, just...

Stayed in late June 2013 for 3 nights. WE LOVED IT !!!!!! Nice, quiet, secluded. Amazing view from most campsites. Perfect for tent camping. Amazing hosts. Hot showers. Up in the mountains, so gets chilly at night.

Mile High Campground is a fabulous primitive campground. I love this place for tent camping, as you do not feel to be surrounded by RV's. Although, they do have some spacious RV sites available. It is such a tranquil place with abundant wildlife. The bathhouse, although rustic, was always clean and hot water available every time we showered. Most of...

First let me say that the view cannot be beat! If you are tent or RV camping be sure to get one of the many views overlooking Cherokee. The sunset, the valley, the mountains........beautiful. The atmosphere was very peaceful and friendly people were everywhere. Now for the bad part: We are normally tent campers, but for a mere $10 you...

We took our girls over Labor Day weekend to Mile High Campground. I cannot say enough great things about this place. Our teenage girls absolutely fell in love with the views, even though there was no cell phone coverage...haha! We loved watching the clouds rollover us! They have hot showers on site and the bathrooms are not overly spaced out....

This primitive campground is the perfect place to escape. Nearly every campsite has a spectacular view since it is located on a ridge. I wasn't too fond of the fee ($10 extra for every person over 4 pr site) but other than that it was wonderful. Hot showers are the only amenity. No electricity at all, even in the restroom....

We recently visited this campsite with our 3 year old daughter, and it was a lovely experience for all. The few cons I'd like to mention are: 1. It really is VERY high up, so drivingback up the mountain from your hiking trails can be a bit shaky. The fog/mist settles extremely quickly, and at times we couldn't see more...

My son and I went there on a bike trip. Before we got our tent set up there were two elk walked through our campsite. The veiws from this place are unreal. Our camp host was Lynn , she was super nice, treated us like family . This is not a KOA, it IS primitive camping but the restrooms and...
