Just wanted to follow up on our vacation at 740 Morris Drive. While we enjoyed OBX and everything it has to offer, the house was a disappointment and Brindley’s upkeep of it was subpar. The cleaning crew left us the house with steamed cleaning of...More
We spent several days at the beach and needed a break from all the sand and salt water. The pools at the Corolla Light Resort were included with our rental package and became a nice easy way to spend the afternoon. I counted four pools,...More
We vacation here with our family and this resort has it all! Oceanfront pool complex with restaurant and bar; game courts of all kinds; sound front pool; sports center with heated indoor pool; gym; courts, hot tub. Very clean and landscaped! Great options for house...More
Corolla light is wonderful, nothing but wonderful things to say about this "area" however, in our opinion it's best to stay far away from renting through Brindley Beach Rentals! Once upon a time they were great, but they have gone very far downhill.
Our family decided to stay in Corolla this year for the first time in about 20 years. We stayed at Sound Skies on the sound side. About a 5 minutes walk to the beach. We had access to everything in the Corolla Light Resort including...More

There's a lot to do in Corolla, especially in Corolla Light. I suggest checking out the Corolla Light web site. I can't post the link, but google corolla light resort and you'll find it. Click on the "Things to Do" tab at the top and then click "see the sites" and you can read about local attractions. Click on "get active" to see a description of activity related resort amenities, and click on "weekly activities/classes" to see a calendar of planned weekly activities, great if you have kids. If you click on the "more" tab, you can also find links for restaurants, shopping, and other recreation; the Corolla Adventure Park sounds interesting (haven't been there myself yet).
I've never stayed in the Worley House, but I looked it up on the web site and see that it's on Miller Ct. Corolla Light runs a trolley service to take people to the beach, and according to the map of trolley stops located on the site it looks like there's a trolley stop right in front of your house, so that's probably the easiest way to get to the beach, and the trolley will drop you off at the ocean front pool complex. To walk it looks like you would walk north on Rt. 12 about 5 minutes to Shad St., and then cut over to the beach on Shad, probably another 5 minutes.
In terms of places to eat Northbanks is probably my favorite, located in Tim Buck II shopping center, but it's very popular and can be a long wait. I haven't eaten at Urban Kitchen yet, but it gets great reviews - I've read the owner/chef tries to source all ingredients locally. Agave Roja in food lion shopping center is very good Mexican. For good beef & seafood you plan to cook yourself, check out the Butcher Block, also in Food Lion shopping center.
Oh, one more thing, the Outer Banks Center For Wild Life Education is located in Corolla, just a mile north of your home. They run a lot of really interesting programs, but they book up EARLY, so don't wait until you get there to check it out or you'll be to late. You can get to their site from the Corolla Light site, I suggest checking it out now and if there's something you want to do call them now to reserve your spot.
