We have been coming to Corolla for 20+ years. We come in season and out. Corolla Light always delivers. Beautiful oceanfront and soundside pools. Indoor pool for bad weather. Tennis courts, racquet ball courts, bike trails, shopping, and dining... it has it all. Big houses,...More
We love Corolla Light and have rented there for years. Last year, however, management of the property we usually rented was transferred to Brindley Beach. They promptly lost our reservation, reinstated it after a series of phone calls, and lost it again. The second time,...More
I stayed in the Beacon Villas, unit 1087, with 5 teenagers. We rented bikes and they had a great time. The area has numerous bike trails. Very safe! The resort had basketball courts and volleyball courts, as well as, pools with life guards! The boys...More

There's a lot to do in Corolla, especially in Corolla Light. I suggest checking out the Corolla Light web site. I can't post the link, but google corolla light resort and you'll find it. Click on the "Things to Do" tab at the top and then click "see the sites" and you can read about local attractions. Click on "get active" to see a description of activity related resort amenities, and click on "weekly activities/classes" to see a calendar of planned weekly activities, great if you have kids. If you click on the "more" tab, you can also find links for restaurants, shopping, and other recreation; the Corolla Adventure Park sounds interesting (haven't been there myself yet).
I've never stayed in the Worley House, but I looked it up on the web site and see that it's on Miller Ct. Corolla Light runs a trolley service to take people to the beach, and according to the map of trolley stops located on the site it looks like there's a trolley stop right in front of your house, so that's probably the easiest way to get to the beach, and the trolley will drop you off at the ocean front pool complex. To walk it looks like you would walk north on Rt. 12 about 5 minutes to Shad St., and then cut over to the beach on Shad, probably another 5 minutes.
In terms of places to eat Northbanks is probably my favorite, located in Tim Buck II shopping center, but it's very popular and can be a long wait. I haven't eaten at Urban Kitchen yet, but it gets great reviews - I've read the owner/chef tries to source all ingredients locally. Agave Roja in food lion shopping center is very good Mexican. For good beef & seafood you plan to cook yourself, check out the Butcher Block, also in Food Lion shopping center.
Oh, one more thing, the Outer Banks Center For Wild Life Education is located in Corolla, just a mile north of your home. They run a lot of really interesting programs, but they book up EARLY, so don't wait until you get there to check it out or you'll be to late. You can get to their site from the Corolla Light site, I suggest checking it out now and if there's something you want to do call them now to reserve your spot.
