We went for one night to the Fontana Village Resort. We were surprised by how much it includes with a large lodge, restaurant, a couple stores and a timeshare community of individual cottages. At the beginning of December it was quiet quiet quiet. We took a very nice walk bordering Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Joyce Kilmer Forest is nearby...

My boyfriend and I went to Fontana Village this past Thanksgiving holiday for 4 days and was very pleased with everything about the stay. The Village is set in a beautiful mountainside setting and we stayed in the main lodge. The place is little outdated and worn but I feel adds to the beauty of the place. The room was...

Love the quiet resort where you can completely relax. For the kids, the small lazy river is great. Wish there were a hot tub where that pool is though. We stay in cabins and they are wonderful. The food is excellent. Tubing on the lake is a blast. What a gorgeous lake! Down side: Golf carts are broken often. They...

Our Miata group stayed an extended visit there last weekend. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The rooms are clean but could be updated a bit. One big thing for us was no cell service for AT & T customers and WiFi was spotty at best. The meals here were very delicious and the portions were extremely generous.Staff was understaffed...

The lodge is well off the beaten path, in a beautiful part of the North Carolina Mountains. We arrived after dark, and it was VERY dark up there. But, the lodge was beautiful, well kept, and the restaurant was great. The room was very nice, much nicer than a similar property at Grand Canyon National Park we stayed in previously....

This was our first visit to Fontana Dam and the resort. It was a couples get-a-way weekend and we traveled in fall. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to "get of the grid". We are happy that you chose to stay with us for your get-away weekend! We are off the grid in many aspects. The hustle and bustle of everyday life doesn't exist here and it is quite refreshing! Ate at the village Resort restaurant for dinner approximately 5:30 pm. No reservations for 4 but many tables were open, it took 25 min. to be seated at a table right next to cashier desk up front ~ 5' away. It took another 25 min to get a waitress to come to ask for drinks and deliver menus. Our experience...
