Our son lives in Morganton and stayed here because it's close. The Inn exceeded our expectations. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed, clean, and comfortable. The innkeepers are friendly and warm. Breakfast is wonderful. And the porch is a great place to relax in the evening.

We could not say enough about this Inn and the owners/hosts Teresa & Craig! The Inn is rich with character, immaculate, beautifully decorated, very warm & cozy, and full of history. The hosts made sure our every need was met and shared lots of tips on where to go/what to do around the area. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing, with...

We stayed here about 2 years ago before it was renovated and under new ownership. It was nice then, but it is exceptional now. The design is a mixture of antique and modern and is flawlessly decorated. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast is fresh and delicious. The wrap-around porch is irresistible with rocking chairs, a glider...

I took my husband to the The Inn at Glen Alpine for his 37th birthday. As has been the case for the past few years, we brought our laptop along on vacation in hopes that the tranquility would bring us one step closer to finishing our book! This was our first experience at a Bed & Breakfast...man did they set...

Beautiful, B&B, furnished with many authentic pieces of period furniture, and nestled in a friendly small town not far from Morganton to the east and Ashville to the west. We stayed in the Bella suite with its authentic claw foot tub and lovely sitting area. Teresa and Craig, the innkeepers, are fun, very friendly and anxious to make everyone's stay...

A short drive from home and a world away! About an hour outside the Charlotte area. This past weekend we had the pleasure of being guests at the Inn and enjoying the hospitality of Craig and Teresa. They made our stay the highlight of the summer. So close to beautiful Lake James and all the great attractions of both Morganton...

Last minute trip to this area. Just by chance found this outstanding B&B. Beautifully decorated. Couldn't have been more comfortable or gorgeous. Inn keepers were excellent host. Breakfast was top shelf. Thanks to the innkeepers for making our last minute stay memorable.

This B&B is by far the best guest service experience we've ever had. The inn keepers Craig and Teresa went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. They alone are enough to give this a 5 star review, but all the little details are what makes this place unique. The rooms are beautiful, functional, and are...

I went to Morganton NC to ride bike trails (Catawba River Greenway and Lake James MBTrails) and play golf. I don't care for the motels on the Interstate and usually prefer B&Bs. This was a great one! It was outside of town about 5 or 6 miles on old U.S. 70 in the quaint little town of Glen Alpine. It...

The Inn is a fabulous restoration of an old home that the owners, Teresa and Craig, meticulously designed, restored and decorated to make an exquisite home. They were the most friendly, enjoyable, and knowledgeable owners of a B&B that we have experienced. They fill a niche that few people are capable of doing – providing true southern hospitality, beautifully appointed...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This 1913 Country Manor turned Bed & Breakfast offers four luxurious guest rooms including two suites, spacious and elegant common rooms, a 'green' environment, the best porch in Burke County and unbeatable outdoor event space. In November 2014 your new hosts, Teresa and Craig Sellman, purchased the Inn. After 6 months of renovation (which we like to call ‘putting red lipstick on the pretty lady’, as the house was already so beautiful), the Inn At Glen Alpine has opened its doors once again. Conveniently located 3 miles off Interstate 40, the Inn At Glen Alpine is only 50 miles east of Asheville, 25 miles west of Hickory and 30 minutes to the entrance of the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. A short 6 miles to the east finds you in the historic town of Morganton, the Burke County seat. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Appalachian foothills, South Mountain, Grandfather Mountain and adjacent to the southeast corner of Pisgah National Forest, you will experience all the best there is to offer from outdoor activity to nearby historic towns in the heart of Western North Carolina. A short drive brings you to many amazing local wineries and breweries (Lake James Winery is within walking distance!), and just 10 minutes from the Inn you will find Lake James State Park which was voted the best state park in North Carolina in 2014. Breakfast at the Inn is a feast not soon to be forgotten! We specialize in locally sourced ingredients and allergy friendly alternatives to all your breakfast favorites, especially gluten free. With the new addition of a commercial kitchen, we proudly offer a la carte meals that can be served in your room, in the beautiful dining room, on the porch or taken to go as you embark on your outdoor adventures. The Inn At Glen Alpine is also a Premier Event Site in Burke County with an outdoor pavilion available for all your celebration needs. With a 200+ space parking field, events of all types can be held from weddings and reunions to festivals and corporate events. ... more   less
