I went to Morganton NC to ride bike trails (Catawba River Greenway and Lake James MBTrails) and play golf. I don't care for the motels on the Interstate and usually prefer B&Bs. This was a great one! It was outside of town about 5 or 6 miles on old U.S. 70 in the quaint little town of Glen Alpine. It...

The Inn is a fabulous restoration of an old home that the owners, Teresa and Craig, meticulously designed, restored and decorated to make an exquisite home. They were the most friendly, enjoyable, and knowledgeable owners of a B&B that we have experienced. They fill a niche that few people are capable of doing – providing true southern hospitality, beautifully appointed...

B & B not to be missed! On our weekend there I was tired on the first morning and elected to skip downstairs breakfast. Teresa brought a scrumptious tray upstairs to me. the rooms are elegant, large and well appointed. They have a Local Wine that was served in the evening, and could purchase a bottle. A refrigerator, coffee, tea,...

Teresa and Craig make the difference in so many ways! First, they are genuinely nice people, who have decided that making their guests have an enjoyable stay is their mission in life at this time. First and foremost, everything is spotlessly clean, and the grounds are manicured like a golf course! Second, food is simply delicious, well prepared (except when...

What a lovely and thoughtful review!! We so appreciate the time you took to share your experience here at the Inn, and we express the same sentiment of how enjoyable it was to get to know the four of you (and pranking Craig about the bacon was a highlight . . . a little innkeeper humor makes for a fun...

Located in the "western suburbs" of Morganton, NC, this striking B&B was a delightful place to stay. Our room/suite was luxurious--four separate spaces, actually--and the peacock motif was fun! Breakfasts were delicious, as was the 3-course dinner that was part of the package. The renovation of the house by the current owners, sitting on a 6-acre property where weddings and...

The wife and I stayed here 6-8 Feb 16. The Inn keepers, Craig and Teresa, are the most gracious people you could ever meet. They made us feel like we had known them for years. We enjoyed chatting with them about a myriad of topics. They were helpful getting us oriented to the area and with suggestions for places to...

Coming to the area for business, I happened across the Inn at Glen Alpine on the internet and I'm so happy that I did. The room was spacious and comfortable. (I stayed in Turkey Tail.) Found the Inn at Glen Alpine because of a late night last minute idea to go to Linville Falls. We had thought we wanted to stay at Morganton, but did not like the choices available there....then, voila! on TripAdvisor we found this great sounding b&b, but we had doubts....what would we find in a community that barely was a dot...

This B&B is off the beaten track, but well worth finding. Owners could not be any nicer or more friendly. The rooms are large and comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. Nice porch for relaxing. We will be definitely be staying here instead of the hotels in Morganton or Marion.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This 1913 Country Manor turned Bed & Breakfast offers four luxurious guest rooms including two suites, spacious and elegant common rooms, a 'green' environment, the best porch in Burke County and unbeatable outdoor event space. In November 2014 your new hosts, Teresa and Craig Sellman, purchased the Inn. After 6 months of renovation (which we like to call ‘putting red lipstick on the pretty lady’, as the house was already so beautiful), the Inn At Glen Alpine has opened its doors once again. Conveniently located 3 miles off Interstate 40, the Inn At Glen Alpine is only 50 miles east of Asheville, 25 miles west of Hickory and 30 minutes to the entrance of the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. A short 6 miles to the east finds you in the historic town of Morganton, the Burke County seat. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Appalachian foothills, South Mountain, Grandfather Mountain and adjacent to the southeast corner of Pisgah National Forest, you will experience all the best there is to offer from outdoor activity to nearby historic towns in the heart of Western North Carolina. A short drive brings you to many amazing local wineries and breweries (Lake James Winery is within walking distance!), and just 10 minutes from the Inn you will find Lake James State Park which was voted the best state park in North Carolina in 2014. Breakfast at the Inn is a feast not soon to be forgotten! We specialize in locally sourced ingredients and allergy friendly alternatives to all your breakfast favorites, especially gluten free. With the new addition of a commercial kitchen, we proudly offer a la carte meals that can be served in your room, in the beautiful dining room, on the porch or taken to go as you embark on your outdoor adventures. The Inn At Glen Alpine is also a Premier Event Site in Burke County with an outdoor pavilion available for all your celebration needs. With a 200+ space parking field, events of all types can be held from weddings and reunions to festivals and corporate events. ... more   less
