My wife and I spent Easter weekend at this beautiful inn run by Gail Winston. The place is rustic but refined. The room was lovely. The food was world class as was the service. And we had a porch concert from Wayne Henderson (which is on the order of sitting next to Pablo Picasso as he paints). A privilege we...

My wife and I just had a wonderful anniversary stay at the River House Country Inn. Unbelievably good dinner with fantastic music from a quartet of virtuoso musicians,(guitar, piano, penny whistle and cello.) A magical evening. Gayle, the owner, is in a class of her own for graciousness, warmth and style. Rooms were great. We will be back.

We have stayed about a half dozen times at the Riverhouse and have fallen in love with the property and Gail each time. From the first meeting with Gail Winston, the owner and hostess, you immediately get the warm southern hospitality of a most gracious lady. She is interesting, well traveled, has done more in her life than most people...

What an extraordinary place! This is not your typical Bed and Breakfast or remote Inn. This is an escape from time to a beautiful remote location, without the chatter of televisions and radios, to provide a wonderful setting for real socializing. We arrived to enjoy a salon of a wonderful piano performance to a fun crowd of guests that were...

We arrived at this truly unique Inn at around 5.30, just as they were hosting a CHamber of Commerce event. We were welcomed as long lost friends, even when they found out we WEREN'T anything to do with the Chamber of Commerce and were told to check in at the bar. At the bar, things were humming. Not surprisingly...there was...

After celebrating our anniversaries here for dinner for many years, we got to experience the River House more fully. We enjoyed the entire Inn with family and close friends for our daughter's dream wedding! Gayle's assistance with planning and follow-through from rehearsal dinner to reception in the Tobacco Barn was just what was needed and hoped for. Gayle and her...

Love this place. The welcoming atmosphere; the front porch with rockers; the friendly and warm host Gayle; the food - breakfast, or course, and dinner, if you choose; the quiet; the river right under your nose; the coffee by your door in the morning. This lovely country inn is on my list of favorites.

I would love to say that we had a lovely time and the food was great and that I would return. But I can;t. I will say that the setting is very picturesque and we had high hopes when we arrived for the Sunday Dinner. For the record this is a prix fixe 5 course dinner - and I had...

We love this restaurant and brought our adult daughter here for her birthday. Service was superb and my wife and daughter ordered the filet, I had the scallops. My wife's filet had a gristle in it that made it inedible. We called it to our servers attention and Gail came to our table and offered a replacement . Since my...
