We chose the Park on Main for our anniversary getaway and were so please!! The furnishings and room were so nice and comfortable. Favorite part of stay was cocktails in the courtyard with the fountain. So quiet and relaxing!!
Everything I could find online about Park on Main seemed positive, but I had to wonder — A hotel that not just allows, but actually caters to dogs?!? How clean would it be? Would there be a doggy odor? We decided to take a chance, and, boy, are we glad! Every aspect of our stay has been DELIGHTFUL! The hotel is charming. Our suite (with balconies front and back) is comfortable, beautiful, and spotless. So are the lobby area and the courtyard. The staff has been friendly and accommodating. My husband, our two Frenchies, and I couldn’t have asked for more. We will be back!
This hotel is absolutely amazing! The attention to detail was incredible! It is so wonderful that a hotel cateres to both people and dogs. The room was beautiful and had everything you could think of. It comes with a dog bed, blanket and bowls as well. Our dog was even given a toy and dog shaped “Cooke” on check in. Plus there were dog shaped cookies for us humans as well. The hotel owned dog park was a plus. The hotel is located right in town so you can park you car in the spotless garage and explore the town on foot. Lots of beautiful scenery and waterfalls in the surrounding ares to explore. Can’t wait to go back!
We stayed at the park on main with our dog. The hotel was immaculate and had everything you could ever want for. The room was beautiful and decorated perfectly. Our dog loved her bed and the food and water bowls were great. Breakfast was so good and again every attention to detail was taken. The staff were fabulous. We all agreed it is one of the best hotels we have stayed on. We didn’t want to leave. Mr. Pickles dog park was a bonus! Lisa Funsch
We have stayed at this Inn 3 times. Each time I am reminded why we love this place. We bring our little dog who is welcomed with open arms. Our every need seems to be anticipated and exceeded. If you want a special place to stay in Highlands, this is it. We’ll;be back next year.
Such a nice hotel! I love that they cater to dogs. The rooms come with dog bowls, beds and toys. The rooms are very spacious. Comes with a mini fridge. The pull out sofa is a bit bouncy but should be ok for younger kids. The breakfast is great! Lots of options and beverages. The staff was very nice. Walking distance to a lot of stores and restaurants. Beds were comfy and bathroom was very clean and modern. Yes the shutters in the room does not give you total privacy. There are gaps and the drapes do not cover them and lights come through at night. Rooms are pretty sound proof but you can hear people right outside the door. Definitely a must stay if you have dogs.
Great place - clean and close to so much. Right on Main Street & can walk everywhere. Only issue is with King Suite / ADA room. The drapes don’t close. The light floods in at night and the blinds are not correct size. Light floods in 2 inch cracks. Which also people walking by can see in room. Had to try and hang sheet over valance for privacy. Manager should correct for a $400/ night room. If you’re a light sleeper or need a dark room beware.
We are so happy to have found this lovely hotel! As dog trainers who were not coming with dogs we weren't quite sure if we were going to have barking dogs waking us in the morning. We deal with that at home and wanted to get a good night sleep while on vacation. We are so glad we took a leap of faith! No barking dogs! There was only one time during the day that someone left a very unhappy dog alone apparently but they came back quickly and it was never an issue again. This place has huge rooms, black out drapes for sleeping, suites with comfy beds and outdoor balcony with French doors. They have a dog bed and dishes waiting for your dog if you bring one. Such a lovely place! We had to split our time with another more expensive location and wish we could have just stayed at the The Park On Main. It was more our speed!…
I just stayed at the Park on Main Hotel for two nights. Of course I had my dog with me, as it advertises to be pet friendly. I can tell you it is the most pet friendly boutique hotel I’ve ever stayed at. When you walk in the door and look to your left, there’s a sweet beagle lying on a dog bed behind the room divider. As it turns out, this hotel not only fosters dogs, but in the last four years, they’ve placed 34 dogs! You can’t get more dog friendly than that. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are adorable and well-laid out with a couch and a little balcony. Every room comes with a dog bed, dog bowls, dog towel, squeaky toy, dog treats, everything your pampered pooch could ever ask for. As you can tell I highly recommend this hotel if you’re staying in the Highlands area. General Manager John Woods is an amazing guy, and he and his staff did everything they possibly could to make my stay enjoyable. Check it out.…
I have not written a review in some time. Not because we have stopped traveling but because it became repetitive praising one location / hotel / restaurant after another. We have been very lucky in our travels to further destinations such as Bhutan, Nepal, Dubai, Chennai and many other places. However, I cannot believe that our worst experience in the last 5 years was at a so called luxury hotel in Highlands, North Carolina. I fully appreciate the restrictions placed on hotels since the advent of Covid-19 however I cannot believe the lengths The Park on Main have exploited the situation for profit. We recently stayed for 5 nights in a King suite with fireplace. During our stay; The room was never cleaned. The bathroom was never cleaned. The bed linen was never changed. The toiletries were never replenished. We had to complain about the heating before it was turned on (no explanation on its operation when we checked in). We had to empty the trash bins in the rooms into a large plastic bag which we had to leave outside the door at preset time. We had to place used towels in a similar bag to be left with the trash outside the door. We had to makeup the bed each day ourselves (remember no fresh bed linen. On contacting the Hotel John Woods informed me that I should have read the small print which was hidden away on their website. There was no mention of no housekeeping when we booked by phone. He also said there was a notice (which we did not find) which suggested that if we did need any of the services we should have asked! We have never ever stayed in a hotel where it was necessary to have the room cleaned, especially what is supposed to be a luxury hotel. I doubt this will prick the conscience of Mr Woods or the owners, after all their are plenty more tourists they can rip off!…
