When does less become more? When you indulge yourself in a weekend at Fire Mountain Inn. This is not your "average" bed and breakfast. If you are dependent on "free Internet," a big screen TV with HBO, and proximity to shops, shows, and restaurants, forget about it! If you love a peaceful, calming mountain top environment with incomparable views, beautiful...

Want to Escape the Hustle and Bustle of everyday life? If so, spend a few days on top of a mountain, with beautiful views, no traffic, no noise, and a level of serenity not often experienced. I am talking about Fire Mountain Inn and Suites in Scaly, North Carolina (about fifteen minutes from Highlands). My wife and I spent a...

Have been to Fire Mountain several times over last few years. First time with my daughter and son in law, then back again on other occasions. It is like heaven on earth destination for me. Secluded, quiet, well, well off the beaten path (the path is a gravel road actually). The inn itself is very, very nice plus lovely cabins...

This place has a truly beautiful view. Know that you are not that close to Highlands in terms of the evening meal but the view and atmosphere mostly make up for that. Coffee is not available until 8:30 so pack a small coffee maker if you are an early riser.

These guests were totally effusive about their entire stay during each and every contact with staff members and guests that they encountered, on numerous occasions, during their stay. Their departure was so warm and complimentary with an expression that they both desired to return. We appreciate Preacher Jody taking the time to write this review but we do find it...

Just got back from our trip to the Highlands NC area and Fire Mountain Inn. We loved it! We were in the area for a wedding so didn't have as much time to enjoy the surroundings as we wished but we've decided we will definitely go back. Our room was simply furnished but beautiful. The balcony overlooked the mountains and...

This place was exactly what my wife and I needed! I can't say enough about it. The views are just spectacular, it was so quiet and peaceful and there were no TVs or phones to distract from all of that. Probably the most relaxing weekend we've had in years. We will definitely be back.

The Fire Mountain Inn is an absolute gem! I found it on the web, and am very grateful that I did. It is a tiny jewel of a place in a setting of forest and mountains. Very quiet and peaceful with stunning views, especially as the sun rises and sets. I would have loved to spend the entire week there....

My husband and I stayed here in a cabin for our honeymoon. It felt very private and peaceful. Love the feel of the place and the proprietors offer the perfect balance of privacy and service. The cabin was immaculately clean and the bed was very comfortable. Hope we can come back to this beautiful place again soon!

My husband and I recently stayed at Fire Mountain during our first visit to the Highlands area. We are already planning a trip back and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else! The Inn and its accommodations offer a Zen-like atmosphere that is the perfect complement to the beauty and serenity of the mountain setting. The owners, Hiram & Matthew, are perfect...

What a relaxing and rejuvenative place this is. Hiram and Mathew are the perfect hosts. Our room "Red Thunder" has the most incredible view. From early morning to the last light in the evening the view is ever-changing in texture and color. To see the twinkling lights in the valley below at night is a treat. The food is marvelous....
