The Laughing Heart Lodge, formerly a Jesuit retreat center, is beautiful, historic and eclectic. The atmosphere is a bit like visiting a wealthy elderly aunt- filled with Victorian furniture- and yet comfortable and casual at the same time. There are two large great rooms with massive stone fireplaces, bookshelves, a reading/sitting nook, dining room and more. There are large porches...

This b&b is just the most unusual, quiet, comfortable, fantastic place I've lodged in many years. It's location is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone seeking solace. Don't hesitate to visit, you may not want to leave though.

My friend and I stayed here after three days on the Appalachian trail. The accommodations were good and the rate was fair. There is a furnished kitchen for cooking your own food. We would stay here again!

Loved the lodge, our room, bed, bedding and pillows. Not certain if the mentality of the lodge staff was a small town local thing or just unwelcoming. We pulled up to the reception area of the lodge to unload and check-in, between the designated check-in hours, and three women were sitting in chairs on the front porch and no one...

The area was pretty clean. They have three shower and bathrooms which is wonderful for groups getting out early. They were fully featured with wifi, computer, and a kitchen that was small by serviceable. No resupply for hikers on site but town is really close so no worries. Friendly and accommodating staff round off the experience.

This was a good choice for us as a home base to do local day hiking on the Appalachian Trail. It is in easy walking distance from the heart of Hot Springs but is far enough away to be avoid the motorcycle noise. (The local roads are a curvy favorite.) We stayed in the "Dragonfly Room" which was very comfortable...

Upon arrival, we were greeted by "Bear," the Lodge's mascot cat. My friend and I lodged in the 2d floor Monarch Room and found it: large, comfortable, tastefully decorated, sunny and CLEAN! The breakfast buffet was nutritious and featured a good variety of morning fare. All staff members were cordial and helpful. The Lodge was formerly a Jesuit Monastery, dating...

I had been part of a continuing education event and stayed 5 nights at the lodge in the Firefly room. The room was tastefully furnished and decorated. It was clean and had an updated bathroom with a nice size bathtub/shower, They provided free soap, paper products and towels. There is no room service, but fresh towels are available for pick up...

My husband and I have stayed here a couple times on weekend getaways. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and private. A european style breakfast of fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs and the most delicious biscuits. The grounds are lovely with a gorgeous view and the Appalachian Trail goes right behind the property.

Nice rooms, good food, comfortable surroundings and great people! Would gladly stay here again if my hiking brought me back to the Hot Springs area. The staff were very accommodating when we needed to stay an unexpected additional night.

“Individual rooms have full beds and air conditioning. The bunk rooms have thinner and more narrow mattresses and are not air conditioned. However, we stayed in the bunk room in August and were comfortable with just fans.”

“I glanced at two vacant rooms on the same floor (2nd) as ours and they appeared to be just as nice and roomy. My only complaint is that there was no hair dryer. Since so many hotels now provide them I didn't think to pack one.I just gave in to my frizzy hair!”
