Generally, we enjoy Beachwoods. We have been staying there for years, going back to the Barrier Island Kitty Hawk Days. One thing they have recently started doing which I STRONGLY object to is the daily activity fee. They charge $25 a day for the facilities, whether you use them or not. They have some nice facilities, but that is not... More

Stayed in a CLEAN 3 bedroom lockoff unit. We experienced a quiet resort due to off season. The renovations are great. Small waterpark, play area, lake with paddle boats and nice fitness room. Our unit had some issues that were resolved adequately (cooling and laundry). Check in was easy and staff were pleasant.

Booked four separate condos for four separate families and they attempted to place us in the three units. TERRIBLE customer service and the most dated décor you will ever find, EVER. Each of our four units were furnished completely randomly, toilets didn't work, NIGHTMARISH. Was actually hung up on by front desk and told that any issues were not their... More

It is now called Beachwoods Resorts. We stayed in a 4 bedroom with a loft. This location was good and the time share had lots of room. Spacious rooms and large living room and kitchen. Only downfall was the indoor water park closed at 5pm. Close to shopping and tons of dining choices.

The location is great, the resort is update which we loved but no one is available except from 9-5, if you need something you have to contact the security guard! We were told the water park would be open, but it wasn't so we were offered a pool pass to the YMCA (10 miles away) which they did not have... More

Great location, close to beach in Outer Banks but not too remote...still close to restaurants, food stores and Walmart. Lots of construction but will be beautiful when completed. So close to Walmart for food shopping, last minute items and Red Box movie rentals.

We arrived on a Friday and stayed 1 week in unit 1702 A. The unit sleeps 4 with 1 bedroom and a sofa sleeper and 2 spacious bathrooms, both have a shower/tub combination and are well lit. The unit is large, well decorated and pleasant. It has an open patio area and a screened patio area with a large and... More

We were in a 4 bedroom upstairs unit and assumed we would not hear noise from the unit below. HOWEVER, there were several toddlers in that unit who seemed to never tire of running back and forth sounding to us like little people running around in our unit. Seemed the whole building shook. But the unit itself was well-appointed with... More

This place is now known as Beachwoods Resort. It is partially under construction. We found that its 'Nature's Trail' is blocked after about half a mile by construction debris. It will be a good resort when completely ready. Its staff if friendly and helpful. But there is no housekeeping worth name. Its outdoor pool is working, but no lifeguard. It... More

Ownership of this location and name have changed. The name is now Beachwoods, a Gold Key Resort. There is an extensive remodeling going on and the place is very disorganized, with building materials and machinery everywhere. Our condo had 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. However, the upstairs "bedroom" was really a loft with no door and no bathroom on that... More

“Be sure to get an upstairs unit -- not much soundproofing when you have upstairs neighbors!”

“You will have no idea what facilities are available until you arrive and look for them. If you wish for a peaceful vacation with your family this is not the place to be. When not sightseeing off the resort property, you can stay in your room, not facilities on the property for you and your kids to use. Use your precious vacation time elsewhere.”
