I alerted staff at check in that my sister has cerebral palsy when they told me we had a second floor unit, with no means other than outside, wooden stairs for her to get there. I asked if there was a first floor, 3 bedroom, but was told "we're booked". booked doesn't negate

The unit size is nice, many things missing in the kitchen but the staff will bring you what you need. Great employees. Beautiful and clean beach only 3 min away. Free private beach parking for guests. Overall, it was a good place to stay.

The staff was great. Check-in was pleasant and swift when we arrived on Sunday night. Our units (on the outside) were old, shabby and looked NOTHING like the picture. We were also surprised with a $25/day per unit "activity fee" (whether we used the amenities or not - not

There is a $25 per day amenities fee that is not disclosed prior to booking. You pay this fee regardless of whether you use the amenities or not. The walls/ceiling are very thin, you hear everything. It was a destination trip, probably would stay here again.

This resort was amazing. It was beautiful fun and full of activities. The staff was pleasant and the condos were clean. So close to the beach. Must go resort. It was our first trip to the outer banks, beachwood is the place to go.

Is the indoor pool area open now?
Not when we were there, seems delays, I would call resort. Its really called beachwoods, they are doing a great job with upgrading everything.

Paddle boats are free, they have a tennis court and basketball court and that was free. The playground is also free. The outdoor pool is very nice. There is no lazy river but the kid pool is nice. When we first went to the resort my kids were 3 and 5. We have been five years in a row since. Very kid friendly.

you can call the resort and ask them, but I cant imagine that it would not be finished by then. The units were all complete in September as was the outdoor pool and beautiful guest registration area. Only thing they were working on was the indoor pool and activities building.

"Watch out for cockroaches "
"Be sure to get an upstairs unit -- not much soundproofing when you have upstairs neighbors!"
"You will have no idea what facilities are available until you arrive and look for them. If you wish for a peaceful vacation with your family this is not the place to be. When not sightseeing off the resort property, you can stay in your room, not facilities on the property for you and your kids to use. Use your precious vacation time elsewhere."
"Downstairs rooms have less steps but can suffer from noise from floor above."
"We own a second floor unit. It's certainly quiet but beware: It's an 18-step climb up the outside steps."
