Thought we had booked with our friends the Wyndham only to be put into the older RCI units at Rumbling Bald resort? The Mountain loft villas were older units. Both golf courses were very nice. You are pretty much "trapped"once you get to Lake Lure but it is beautiful area. Nice Legends club house with good good but higher priced...

If relaxing is on the agenda this is the place for you. Beautiful views, clean units and quiet enjoyment. Far enough from thebhustle and bustle, but just a quick ride to area markets and outdoor adventures. Something for the whole family. Will definitely be returning.

We visited this resort (using our Wyndham points) during spring break, with our 3 little boys. It was awful! The cabin was really outdated and musty. The carpeting was filthy. Our boys feet and hands were black with dirt from playing on the floor. There were live roaches and dead bees around the cabin. The resort pool was closed the...

We stayed in a 1 bedroom/1 bath condo. The facility is well maintained, new decks apparently recently added as the deck wood was still natural looking. A lot of space for the two of us with eat in kitchen and very nice sized sitting room. Kitchen is a bit small, but more than adequate for the two of us. A...

We arrived after the office was closed & retrieved our unit info and keys from a lock box. The following morning, we had to officially check in with the office. We told the staff that we mostly just wanted to know where the pool was located. The pool was pointed out to us on a map then we went directly...

This place is extremely dated, think Formica counters and crappy cabinetry, but we saw renovations in progress at nearby units. (We are returning in November so I hope I can give a report on the updated units at that time.) So why the four star rating? The most important point is that the place was clean!! The decking had recently...

Took a quick trip from TN to NC and stayed here at the Wyndham Fairfield Mtns. The units are very old and out dated. We had a 2 bedroom lock off and the upstairs unit was ok, but the lower unit only had a queen bed, very small kitchen, and a tiny stove. It did have a jetted tub, but...

We stayed for two nights and the unit had a new curtains, new hardwood floors, and perfect bedding. Kitchen and bathroom amenities were well selected, even to the recycle bags were labeled. The view from the deck was serene and we enjoyed our home away from home.

Stayed here while we explored the fall colors in the area. Chimney Rock, DuPont State Forest and Mt. Mitchell. All within 50 miles of our condo. Stay was nice, unit was well equipped. Needs a little updating, but was just fine.
