I was prepared for rustic, actually like rustic in fact, but the Skyline Village Inn wasn't so much rustic as disjointed. The owners are the nicest and kindest folks you'd ever want to meet, and my book that counts for more than anything, but in the interests of honesty and fair review, you can do better for the same money...

I stayed here on a quiet day in April, before the summer season started. Unfortunately the fog was so thick I couldn't see past the other side of the street. But, I liked it here. The room on the 3rd floor was nice, small, clean and comfy. I felt right at home. The hotel has lots of character, is rustic,...

I recently spent a night at this great place. The Inn is older and has lots of character, so do not expect the blandness of corporate hotels. The wood floors creek and moan as you go up and down the stairs, which I think is great. The owner is fantastic, making me feel right at home, almost like I was...

We stayed here for a night and we had a wonderful experience. It snowed the next morning (last snowfall for the year), and the snow cast a special glow upon the whole area. We waited until the snow melted before we headed out and I took some beautiful pictures of the area. The owners helped accommodate my mother who had...

Motorcycle Friendly! I have been going to the SkyLine Inn & Cavern Tavern for many years. We have taken our motorcycle Riding Club up every year for the past 5 years. It is a great place to stay. Mike the owner goes out of his way to provide an excellent experience. They have food, beer, wine and drinks on the...

My brother, sister-in-law, and husband were on vacation together last month, a camping-hotel combo week. (We girls really like showers every couple of days!) We were intending to stay at this hotel for one night, but because of the way the weather was moving in, we decided to see if we could check in a day early. The owner and...

Firstly, I must say that Mike is the perfect host and has interesting stories to tell about the provenance of the place. He cooks a nice breakfast and the view is wonderful. The hotel has tons of character and was built from assorted local materials including some amazing woodwork back in the 40's. It looks like the place requires a...

Four buddies and I spent four days riding the great motorcycle roads in the area. This was the perfect place to stay. Comfortable rooms, amazing views from the balcony, a great location at 226 and the Blue Ridge Parkway, an excellent host in the owner Mike, covered bike parking in the rear, and great drafts on tap from the nearby...

This inn was perfect. It is not all ritzy and dolled up. It is not the Hilton. It IS a wonderful, quiet place to stay with a wonderful story. The owners were wonderful and answered a million questions about the history of the hotel. The room was lovely with beautiful details on every surface. My husband and I really enjoyed...

What an unexpected find! We had an enjoyable stay here for 5 nights in their off-season. The owner/operator is a lovely, hard working person who went 'above and beyond' to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Each morning, he prepared a delicious breakfast for us and was available to assist with everything we needed. It rained nearly the entire time...
