The horse back riding excursion was beautiful. The grounds of the ranch are amazing. However from check in we felt unwelcome. Carole at the front desk appeared to be actively ignoring us. From us asking direct questions to saying thank you when we left, she didn't respond unless you directly stated her name. Judy at the barn was similarly abrupt....

We visited the Cataloochee Ranch from the UK and I can honestly say I have never experienced such lovely hospitality before. The family and the staff took such good care of us that I will be sure to go back. The food was extremely good - we had both breakfast and evening meal in our rate and I would recommend...

I must say this place is definitely amazing! Be sure when you book this place to get the dinner rate. There food is amazing! The staff here treats you like family and always wants to make sure you are happy. If you want to rent a cabin the Dogwood is definitely my recommendation. Hike the red trail! It's hard but...

This was such a magnificent ride, cool crisp air in the morning and turned out to warm up for the afternoon ride back... This by far was our best experience for horse back riding in the mountains. The horses are well taken care of, witch is a must, well trained well tempered and picked for each individual's size and need....

Beautiful day for a 90 minute horseback ride with my family. Our two guides did a great job and really provided a nice experience. The scenery was spectacular. Been on some rides that go around the perimeter of a ranch and you can still see the ranch house. Not in this case. Going up and down the mountains was a...

Fun time for adults and kids, horses were well mannered and our guide was fun and knowlegeable. It was the highlight of our trip to go for 3 hours and then have lunch at the ranch lodge. Be sure to bring enough jackets, hats and gloves if in October or November, as it is mighty cool on the mountain.

You too will catch the fever as you experience the beauty of the mountains. Wake up early to see the sun crest over the mountains and the mist hovering in the valley. If you hike or ride a horse to the top, you can absorb the peacefulness as the only sounds are the rustle of the leaves. A great opportunity...

We gathered for the Eighth Annual Bladder Cancer Survivors meeting & picnic at the Cataloochee Ranch. There were about 40 or more people, including not only Survivors, but Caregivers as well. We had a meet & greet on the pavilion, Friday evening and the actual meetings & picnic were today (Saturday, 9/17/2016). After a large group discussion, we had lunch,...

We have been going here for 8 years. We count down the days when we are able to return and it seems to go by so fast when we are there. Make sure you have your camera (not cell phone because you don't get a good signal and this is your opportunity to unplug from technology) because the sunset is...

What a wonderful morning it was! I called the ranch the afternoon before and made a reservation for the 0930am ride, the person on the phone was very pleasant, took my basic info and informed me that there would be 2 more persons joining me on the ride. I arrived around 0900am and checked in at the front office of...
