Dawn and Mike make this hotel a terrific place to stay. From nightly bonfires to making sure that the people who rent from them do not spoil it for everyone else, the place is a great dog friendly place. Dawn will walk the dogs while you are off visiting the sites and the really care about their guests. Cottages are...

The cottage that we stayed in was cute and very clean. Everything you could ask for was provided! Alamo Motel and Cottages is very conveniently located, yet quiet. Mike and Dawn go out of their way to make sure you and your dog have a comfortable stay. The friendliest, cleanest place we have stayed in that area.

We were lucky enough to score last minute reservations checking in on Memorial Day afternoon after a dog agility trial in semi nearby Fletcher for the weekend. Mike and Dawn have outdone themselves yet again, as everything was perfect, spotlessly clean, and we loved it so much we extended our stay another night. When in Maggie Valley, and need pet...

My first visit to the area and I stayed at The Alamo with a friend and my 2 dogs. What sold me on The Alamo was my first conversation with Mike and Dawn by phone. They were both so friendly and down to earth. I was impressed when Dawn asked for my dogs names so she could greet them when...

You are greeted by Mike and Dawn, owners/operators but more like a family welcoming you. Mike welcomes us and gives the tour and then explicit directions (written down) as to where places are close to the cottage. Dawn greets us and then goes to our dog Dude and gives him a natural treat. Dude's reaction lets her know that he...

I hesitate to write a review because I don't want everyone staying there and taking my cottage. Number 12 is ours so don't stay in it unless checking with us first. In all seriousness, this is a great dog friendly place to stay. Dawn is more than happy to walk the pooches if you are going to be out for...

We have stayed here twice. Once in a cottage and once in the motel. Dawn and Mike make you feel like family. We never go anywhere without our Dazee dog. If you have a pet you have to go here. Dawn is FANTASTIC, she will go in and check on your pet if you need her too. Gee she will...

It's so hard to find places that accept larger dogs. Thankfully, Mike & Dawn (owners/operators) at The Alamo do just that. Our dog Pepper is about 70 lbs.. She travels EVERYWHERE with us. She's been all over the United States. My partner and I lived in the Maggie Valley/Waynesville area for 5 years. We now reside in Florida. We were...

Dawn and Mike were the perfect hosts and we were very blessed to find them last minute like we did. The room was spotless. I never allow my clothing to lay in the floor of a motel bathroom but had no problem doing that here. You can smell how clean it is when you enter. It was "like staying at...

We stayed 2 nights the first weekend in October. We were with our motorcycle buddies, we had 3 rooms and 2 cabins. It's a true mom mad pop kinda place. The owners were very accommodating. After riding the roads all day we would return to a rip roaring fire in the fire bowl. That was a very nice touch. We...
