This is a great place if you had to choose between camping in the woods and camping inside; Not a good place at all Had reservations for Oct 2 to the 5th; had to check in another hotel. Room not clean had a musty odor and needed cleaning. No clerk on site. It's just a big ol mess.

Took over an hour to get into our room. Made reservation at 3pm. Got to hotel at 4. No one in office. Don’t think anyone is ever there. Called to get the numbers to unlock the front door and room. Got in to lobby but couldn’t get into room. Called back. Told I would have to wait for maintenance who would get there “whenever,” Told them that was unacceptable and was reluctantly transferred back to reservation desk. They had to call me back because apparently there’s only one person who has access to room codes. Finally got into room at 5:30. Bed comfortable. TV tiny. Air conditioning inadequate. Had to take our garbage out of room when we left. Wouldn’t stay there again. Finally got the email from hotel with code to get in room at 3:30 in the morning.

What a rip off. Got there at check in time, there’s no staff the lobby door was code locked. Was not sent a code to get in the lobby or what room number. Had to go back to the email because the check in number was on the wall In the locked lobby. Walked around found another guests from Texas who was here with family booked online. In fortunately they booking.com They take full non refundable payment up front. It took him two hours to get in now they are Stuck staying there because he paid for a week. Then find out no room service, no amenities fridge or microwave. We called for several hours 20-30 minutes only for to some kind of generic answering cm. Left VM twice left message about our situation. We left now 5:30 check in was at 4. We ate dinner found another place to stay. Next morning and still no call back. And we’re billed for the room. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !! We are locals from Manteo and Virginia Beach. We are in our late 40’s. So we’re not some young adults! We just didn’t want to drive back after going out with friends. We will spread the word !! There’s no excuse for this type of service even during this pandemic. Oh and we did run into a younger couple that tried to stay there and had the same issues. They finally got an email with the code to the front door and room Number and code. It took over an hour and a half. Sorry we’re both in sales and customer service professionals. Neither of us have tolerance for this !! Now day 3 no call back to

Me and my girlfriend have been backpacking along the east coast for about 2 weeks and this hotel has been by far our best choice. Lovely place, quiet, cool, sparkling clean and the location was the cherry on top, only 3 minutes away from the beach. The check in has been smooth and following the instructions have been very easy. Overall, I would highly recommend this place and we are surely planning to come back.

I had a few apprehensions with the reviews but on day two of our stay I couldn't be more pleased. As it relates to check in procedure, I received a message with notice that the info had been sent to my email but I never received it. At this point I'm thinking "here we go..." I called the number the day of and was immediately provided the information. My point is, you need to temper your expectations in this regard as it's not the normal check in but worked just fine. Really a perfect location just a block from beach and grocery without all the busy fuss of people you would find at larger hotels. Then Inn is an historic to throwback to the 1930's and in excellent shape. The room was like a mini bungalow and ours was designed like a mini suite with a separate small room and twin bed/tv/dresser adjacent to the master bedroom. While just two of us we immediately thought that for the reasonable price this would work to bring a child as well. While our room didn't have the jacuzzi tub the bathroom was nice. Room has blow-dryer, ironing board, mini fridge. There is a microwave in the lobby which is also very quaint. No ice maker that I saw but room fridge has an ice tray. Bed was comfy and room was niceley dressed with towels and kurig coffee maker with six pods, so not the two cup crappy ones most nicer hotels have. If you like Americana flavor and quiet privacy this place is for you.
