My husband and I just got back home after two nights at the Inn. This being our third stay at The First Colony definitely lived up to our expectations. We love to stay in the Rose Payne suite, on the top floor. It has an ocean view, and it's quite large. Checking in, Chris especially was so helpful and friendly...

First Colony Inn was the perfect location for a crazy bunch of runner friends to spend the a long weekend. The staff was friendly and thoughtful. Thanks so much for accommodating us with breakfast food the next before the race. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. We really enjoyed the afternoon snacks. Breakfast was delicious! Looking forward to next...

We like crazy runners and the Outer Banks Marathon is always a crazy, busy, fun time here on the island. We try to provide carb loaded breakfast foods and snacks for our marathoners and they always appreciate it. Thank you for your comments and we will see you next year.

Turned up having not booked. Computer systems had crashed, not only did the staff find us a lovely double room they were trusting enough to just write our details down without being able to check bank cards etc. Adequate breakfast, lovely to sit outside or take a one minute walk to the beautiful beach.

My husband and I recently stayed at this bed and breakfast. FANTASTIC from the front desk to our room. The breakfast menu was not fancy but plentiful and delicious. The afternoon social was a great time to get acquainted with other visitors. The library was a great place to relax and play games, read, or pick up a DVD. Our...

This B&B had a relaxing and cozy vibe from the second I arrived. The staff was very nice and helpful and I was grateful for the help with my bags since I had a shoulder injury. My liked my room and it was so quaint. I do wish it had better lighting though. I didn't sleep well because my mattress...

The Inn is set back off the main highway running up and down the spine of the Outer Banks. Surprisingly quiet given the location. When we checked in, we were greeted somewhat lukewarmly by the person at the desk. A bit of a nit, but after driving for hours to get there would have been nice to be received with...

Thank you for staying at First Colony Inn. You mentioned that you found Nags Head to be over-built and I wanted to suggest that you may want to visit Ocracoke Island, which is further south. You can only get there via ferry (or private boat or private plane). It is about 90 minutes south of Nags Head and does not...

We enjoyed spending a few nights here at the Inn. The rooms are clean but not fancy, the breakfast is good and is a plentiful along with the nice touch of an afternoon snack. They are across the street from the beach but a wonderful beach at that! Staff is very nice and it's located on the main strip to...

For a quaint small hotel with charm, this is your ticket! Rooms are named after original colonists and decorsted with antiques. Breakfast was more than continental and had hot items. Afternoon snacks and wine was a nice treat and staff allowed us to come down late since we had just checked in. Staff was very friendly and attentive to any...

From Check-In to Check-Out we had nothing but very congenial and professional experiences. At Check-In when we arrived we were greeted by Chris who informed us of all the amenities and offered for us to take part in the Wine Social even though it was cleanup time. Fully appreciated that as we had driven 6 hrs. and relaxing with a...

Enjoyable stay even though the weather didn't cooperate for us. It was a short walk to the beach with a few restaurants and shops within walking distance. Sorry about that weather...nor'easters are sometimes worse than hurricanes because they tend to hang around longer. I hope you can come back again, and see how nice fall can be. Thanks for your review here. We appreciate it.
