Beautiful setting, wonderful staff, gourmet meals. It is located right at the ridge top of the smoky mountains separating Tennessee and North Carolina. Just a short 5-10 minute drive to the Joyce Kilmer memorial Forest which is the largest intact tract of virgin forest east of the Mississippi. Short hikes from the lodge to sunrise and sunset vistas

What a great place!!! Accommodations, food, bar, service, all exceeded my expectations. It is a definite "do again." Perhaps the best stocked bar that I have seen and a dining menu that was more than I had hoped for. From guest services at check in, to the dining room wait staff and a top notch bar tender, they were, to...

SML has been a twice annual get away for my husband and me for the past 4 years. We plan our visits to take advantage of hiking with Kathy and Joel Zachry. These hike leaders and naturalists make it fun and informative no matter your level of expertise. This last visit we met people who have been coming there for...

The moment I check out of Snowbird Mountain Lodge, I began thinking about my next stay. It's a delightful combination of rustic and modern, with a little bit of wonder thrown in. Charming rooms, including the public areas, swaddle you in rustic, yet elegant coziness. Decks abound, including a screened gazebo with a fire pit. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are...

My husband and I took my parents to the Snowbird Mnt Lodge the weekend after my birthday in September. This is one of my favorite places to stay in NC. The weather was great, and we took a water fall hike on Saturday to yellow creek falls. Despite the drought, the falls were still falling. Had our picnic lunch on...

We loved everything about this place - the location with wonderful mountain views, the ambiance ( very relaxed, friendly and quiet ) and the food ( excellent). If you are looking for a great weekend retreat where you can totally relax and enjoy great food and service at a very reasonable price, the Snowbird Mountain Lodge is it!

We stumbled upon this fabulous lodge about 7 years ago during an aimless drive through the mountains. It has become my favorite destination to rest and restore my spirit. Sometimes we hike. Sometimes we just sit and absorb. The Inn is first rate possessing a fully stocked bar and amiable bartender. The rooms are rustic in appearance but luscious in...

Excellent value with 3-meals included in the room price and no kids under 13 allowed. Located a mile from the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest near the Smokey Mountains. The food is very good with...

We met another couple at the Snowbird Mountain Lodge for a long weekend (requires a 3 night stay in the fall - peak foliage season), and we're delighted wtih the inn. We shared a two unit cottage, the Hemlock and Hickory rooms, each of which was a spacious suite with a fireplace, a soaking tub, a sauna/steam/shower, a hot tub...

My bride and I retuned to the Snowbird Mountain lodge this past weekend for a weekend getaway. Many inns make you feel like you need to leave during the day, and you certainly can get out to hike, canoe or fish. But at Snowbird, you are welcome to just be...to rest and recharge. All the meals are included and are...
