Our experience at this older auberge left us with a feeling that this is a place of missed opportunities. The exterior shows signs of neglect even considering we were there late in the season. The wiring in our upstairs room should have the whole building condemned. The written request that we tip the staff for providing us a breakfast that... More

Horrible experience! We booked for one night stay with booking.com and even confirmed via telephone. When we arrived for the night, to our surprise there was no available room. They made a mistake of booking us the previous night. They even made us feel responsible for the loss of money for the room that was unoccupied from the previous night.... More

While the town of Gaspe' was a disappointment (too congested, little charm), the Wakeham was full of charm. We stayed in the Queen's Room for two nights (as my wife, while not a queen, is a princess), which was the most interesting room we ever stayed in. Our dinner was fabulous - the cod was exceptional. (We have never had... More

We stayed at the WW for two nights in the Rustique Room. It was nicely separated somewhat from the main part of the Inn, with it's own entrance. The room itself was very spacious, with high ceilings, three beds, couch etc. The wifi and AC worked well. I liked the old feel of the room, although it was furnished in... More

Our family stayed in the Rustic Suite. Spacious but bizarre. A moose head stared out at us while we slept and some oddities in the bathroom (a tap that didnt quite work with the sink for example) but quiet. Needs an update for sure. The dining room was a beautiful old Victorian space and the food was delicious and included!... More

It is located in a best part of Gaspe and is very close to Parc de Forillon. It is an old house converted to a B&B. Very nice to stay there, the bathroom was renovated well. The house is very clean howver it smells old stuff that is normal for this type of house. The breakfast is one of the... More

Our 3 night stay at he William Wakeham was definitely a highlight of our visit to the Gaspe! We arrived after dark rather tired to be met by an extremely accommodating innkeeper, Desmond Ogden and were welcomed warmly. Mr. Ogden even offered to carry our bags up as one of us was not well! He presented us with a choice... More

One night in Gaspe, a few historic houses, one of them la maison William Wakeham. Our room, the Perchard was rather historic in the less positive sense. Small, old, dark, hot (the only window that opened with some help from staff was in the bathroom ) not much of a view. Not overtly clean either, with the smell of a... More

Got to the hotel to find out that they "claimed" to have not checked their email to see that we had booked through bookings.com, and had given away our room. We had booked a room with a sea view, jacuzzi and was suppose to be spacious. We asked to see the room that they were offering instead of the room... More

The rooms were nice and clean. The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Inn is full of history and beautiful antiques. I would stay here again. Gaspe is such a beautiful place.
