So this place is adorable. It is a beautiful house with charming decor and lovely modern accents (like a pink suede chair for example). Our room had a claw-foot bathtub with various bath necessities which was a great bonus on a cold night.

There is a shared outdoor space with Muskoka chairs and a shared kitchen inside full of various tea and coffee needs as well as local liquors to spike your beverage.

The hosts are wonderful people, very helpful and accommodating. One thing though - make sure to check what time the checkout is, during our visit it was 9 am which is not common but I imagine could be due to the pandemic-related staffing limitations. Loved this spot either way!

Hotel, motel, auberge, call it what you will, the Auberge sous les Arbres was the lodging we most enjoyed during a 10-day road trip in Quebec. Our only disappointment was that even late in September it was so busy that we could only squeeze in one night there.
From a warm and enthusiastic welcome upon arrival through to a good continental breakfast, considering the COVID restraints, there was nothing more that we could have wished for.
Our room was about 360 square feet in area and was beautifully furnished; we even had our own umbrella. The bathroom had a combined shower and tub. It was very quiet. Private parking made life easy and the location in Gaspe was convenient.
We hope to return.

After a long day of driving and sightseeing, our stay at Auberge sous les Arbres was a lovely memorable stop on our journey along the Gaspesie Peninsula.

A great welcome and easy check in, Mimi was clear and informative in giving us all the details needed for our one night stay.

Our room was lovely, very clean, very comfortable, big washroom, comfortable bed, air conditioning. The mini fridge was appreciated and the Nespresso coffee machine was a very lovely surprise! We were given a continental breakfast menu to chose from that evening and in the morning we were given a lovely tray with our breakfast choices which was delicious.

Check out process was quick and easy. Staff was very friendly, the parking was easy and the Auberge was well located in Gaspe.

We did have a slight noise issue in the evening.. as we were in a lower level room we could hear significant stomping.. at some points sounded like someone jumping up and down or perhaps just very heavy walking from the floor above. We couldn’t determine if this was from a room above or perhaps the lobby area.. We had had a long day and were in need of a relaxing evening and night sleep. This was slightly annoying and sparked some light anxiety but it seemed to stop around 10:30pm thankfully we were able to sleep without this disturbance and so overall we were quite thankful it did not persist later into the night.

Aside from that slight hiccup, our stay was absolutely lovely. We would definitely recommend Auberge sous les Arbres and would love to stay again should we travel to the area again in the future.

An overall memorable and lovely experience from our Gaspesie trip.

Merci Mimi et l’équipe de L’Auberge sous les Arbres.

The Auberge is located on a hillside overlooking Gaspe Harbour. It is in part a historic building, immaculately and lovingly maintained. Every detail is accurate to the historical period. We had a suite - very spacious and comfortable. Internet and television excellent. Rooms are quiet and well appointed.
Parking is best behind the Auberge where there is a ramp to roll your bags down (and up) to your room.
The Continental Breakfasts are amazing.

Everything from the greeting at the front desk, to breakfast being served in the kitchen, and my spacious/ spotless room with a balcony were absolutely fantastic. I felt welcome and well taken care of during my two-night stay. After a long hike in Forillon National Park, I was very pleased to be able to relax here and all of the restaurants were a short stone's throw away. Thank you.

Although the inn, itself, is quite charming, we did not find this to be a 5 star experience. The bed was actually VERY hard and uncomfortable. Although there is a Keurig coffee machine in the room, they have a very petty policy of charging you for more than your 3 pods that are supplied when you check in. If you want to have coffee on the following days of your stay, you are charged $5 for 3 more pods. This just seems like a very odd policy for an Auberge that is rated as 5 stars. The bathrooms, although quite functional, are quite dated. Also, of note, is that they have a very strict 9:30 a.m. check out time which was fine for us but is earlier than most anywhere we've ever stayed. This inn was fine, however, we found the experience to be average.

This was possibly one of the nicest stays I ever had for many reasons. Firstly, the price is comparable to most auberges in the area, however don't let the name auberge (inn) fool you because it was significantly better than many other auberges I stayed at during my road trip in the Gaspesie area. The staff was welcoming. I notified them in advance that I would be arriving after 6pm and they waited until I arrived (do note that they lock the doors after 6pm for safety so let them know if you'll be late on your first day). They also showed me around my room and auberge when I arrived. They were friendly and great to chat with. The room was spacious and well decorated with a welcome card, chocolates and cute coffee station. The room included bath salts which was much needed after my hike. Even though I was on the first floor right behind the reception, I never heard a sound and had a relaxing stay. I was also lucky to see the sunrise from my room. The breakfast offered had the perfect selection, just enough to energize you for the day. The location is perfect. Jacques Cartier is a few steps away lined with shopping and restaurants and a block away is the water front. It was the perfect stay and I hope to return soon!

We spent 3 nights in this lovely, well run, spotlessly clean auberge. It is in an ideal setting under beautiful old trees in the heart of Gaspé town. There’s lots of space to sit on Adirondack chairs under the trees, in a tranquil setting. You walk down the stairs of the front lawn and most of the shops and restaurants are conveniently located on the street below. The auberge itself is beautiful. Everything exudes quality. The beds are excellent, plush, and comfortable. The bathrooms are top notch, with powerful rain showers, and our room also had a tub. There’s amble room to hang clothes. Every detail was thought of in order to make their guests’ stay very comfortable. The kitchen has an amazing coffee machine. With the touch of a button you can have various types of coffees as well as cappuccinos and lattes. There’s also homemade créton and jams on offer, as well as cereals, breads, pan chocolat, croissants, yogurt, and juice. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would heartily recommend this place and will definitely stay here again when in Gaspé.

Very great experience in a charming place. The retrofitting of two adjoining houses is very impressive. All the amenities were first rate. You felt that the owners understood what travelers want after a full day of visiting. Things like China cups and saucers, high quality sheets and bed covers, no hassle Wi-Fi, good parking arrangement, excellent breakfast selection with quality foods. Everything was A 1.

The hostel is most welcoming by the hospitality shown by Mimi and Diego. Our room had stunning views of Gaspé Bay through a very large window or balcony. In addition to full of little extra such induction refill on nightstands, bath salt for the bathtub, Nespresso coffee maker, etc.

Continental breakfast was adequate but could be a little more elaborate as it was limited to toast not bagel. But the Jura coffee maker was very appreciated because what better than a good coffee to start your day.

Charging stations available for electric vehicle (free of charge).

For me the hostel is a must if I return to Gaspé.

Thank you and I hope to see you soon.

Yes they do have a website. Google the name. Click on Eng in upper right. They do have a breakfast buffet. No hot breakfast, continental. You would go to Perce to see the rock and isle de Bonaventure. Not sure about whale watching. Best place of that is by the Fjord in Tadoussac.
