After a long ride we arrived to a clean, comfortable room with adequate amenities to serve our purpose.

Boy! We were happy to be able to stay in a 4 star & pet friendly hotel; being that in Quebec it is not very common to have pet friendly hotels & hope that the major chains improve at this level.
Having a small dog & well behaved it is disappointing one has to pay for the visitors that do not take of their pets when staying in hotels! A surcharge was requested of 35$ per night for our pet which was @ least 20$ over charged compared to other 4 to5 star hotels ! I know every chain have their policies & this was best we could find in the area & no regrets…

We are experiencing exceptional times with the pandemic COVID 19 & being able to travel within our province of Quebec this helps us feel a sort of normality with our vaccine passport that has give us a sense of normality.

I recommend this place & hope you enjoy it during a warmer season much more fun to enjoy area.

Very good hotel. I stayed there for several nights. I chose the room with a view of the parking lot to save money. The room is spacious and clean. There is a mini fridge and a Keurig coffee maker. Unfortunately there is no luggage rack in the room. I had to put the suitcase with the dirty wheels on the sofa. Not ideal ...

Newly renovated bathroom with a very nice glass shower but it's a bit difficult to adjust the water temperature.

The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well except my room was near the entrance and people were slamming the door to the stairs and it woke me up and one morning motorcyclists with noisy motorcycles made a commotion leaving and probably wake up all customers on this side of the hotel 😒 People are just rude, not the hotel's fault.

Due to the Covid no cleaning is done in the rooms. Someone was passing by my room however because the air conditioning was always on when I returned to the room. Maybe they vacuum because the bins were not emptied, the sheets and towels not changed but hey, I do not change my things at home every day so why at the hotel? I didn't hang up the card asking for housekeeping either.

The large parking lot behind the hotel is free and great.

The young man at the reception is very pleasant. He even came to fix a little problem with the fridge right away.

I have not tried the restaurant and the cinema was closed so I cannot comment on them.

I recommend this hotel and if I am still in the area I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view might be quieter than those on the parking lot but they are more expensive.

Me and my family had a great time in this hotel it was a nice spaced room. There were many activities outside of the hotel so we weren't in the Hotel as much. The hotel is quite new and we had trouble finding it, at the time of our visit it had recently changed either the business name or location, and we drove around for quite sometime trying to find it.
There is a show projected on these three sails outside the Hotel on our side, it was hard for the little one to go to bed because she wanted to watch the movie so much!

BE AWARE! They clearly LIE when they advertise themself as a 4 star property.

Few examples of what we had to face:

When called front desk to ask for water in our room, we were told that there is a vending machine on the first floor (and make sure you have coins on you, since the scanner for bills is broken and the machine comes from an era, when credit cards did not exist).

Do you want food in your room? We were told to go to the restaurant (entrance to which is right NEXT to the front desk) and ask them directly. If they are NOT busy (!), they will prepare food for you, but, when the food is ready, you have to come (!) and pick it up yourself. Unbelievable!

Shampoo, conditioner, soap in the room are in big plastic containers attached to the walls (identical containers/presentation can be found in 1 star motels across North America). Quality of all these liquids resembles their presentation. After washing my hair once, the following day, my scull was itchy most of the day.

Meanwhile, it is with enviable confidence the front desk personnel kept reassuring me that the property is a 4 star property and things described above are completely normal. I guess my wife and I come from a different planet…

We spent two nights at Hotel Baker and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was bright and spotless. Housekeeping services were available to replace items only but that was not a problem. There was ample parking. The room was functional and the walk in shower was great. My only criticism was that the dark painted doors and door frames were chipped. A quick touch up of paint is all that is needed. The gym was in the basement and certainly adequate for a hotel of this size. Be mindful that the restaurant is not open daily for breakfast and dinner although other restaurants are nearby.

Reception was rather cold - two ladies to greet me but neither of them could find a smile.

The room itself was adequate (I went for the cheaper, parking-side room), but being located right next to the door/staircase, I could hear people opening and closing the door constantly and walking up and down the stairs. You cannot expect guests to be civil and quiet on their own. Install a door that doesn't slam and put some carpet on the stairs.

The towels and the bed sheets are very rough. Bathroom is extremely small.

The hotel room is very clean and has great amenities. Excellent coffee machine and strong hot shower. The gym is fantastic with great equipment. there is a cinema in the hotel (extra charge). Breakfast is not included in the room.

The hotel service is terrible. Terrible terrible terrible. We made our reservation through Expedia but they couldn’t find it in their system. So the old lady receptionist kept blaming us and saying it’s because we didn’t book the room through them directly. WTF?!
So in the end the hotel director had to fix the problem for us.

I had to think about writing this review because I’ve never rated a placed I’ve stayed so low, but maybe the rating and comment will get management’s attention to correct a very dangerous condition.

Pros: Centrally located in Gaspé, adequate room with a mini-fridge and coin laundry which we needed for a long road trip. Friendly front desk staff during the day.

Cons: After checking in, we proceeded to walk up the flight of stairs in the central stairway and down the corridor. I commented to my wife that every stairwell fire door was wedged open. (I know what I’m talking about, 40 plus years in the A/E/C business and the last four as a Building Official for a major U.S. city.). I then make it a practice to locate the other emergency exits and stairways, more wedged open doors in the fire-resistant rated stairways. The first night, at 12:35 am the building’s fire alarms go off. Everyone evacuates the building to the parking lot. We never learned the reason for the alarm (suddenly, French was the ONLY language on the planet) and apparently it was a false alarm and no fire. However, if there had been a fire, smoke and fire would have quickly spread through both wings, all floors, and lobby of the three story non-fire sprinkled building. Not a pretty picture.

While I though the hotel was ok, I didn’t find it exceptionally pet friendly. I was told my pet could not be left in room alone. Not always possible and my guy is quiet. I was also extremely shocked this hotel had no elevator and no access for anyone disabled? Is this not a contravention to the human rights act? In 2020 this is unacceptable.

We stayed for only a night in our trip in Gaspé. The room with a view over the Gaspé Bay deserves every penny. The stuff is very professional and helpful.
We ordered take out from the hotel’s restaurant Têtu. WOW!! The lobster green ravioli and the salmon tartare is to die for!

We will return for sure!
